This was the birth of Chromatica. ­—LADY GAGA (2020) After a three-year gap, Lady Gaga’s sixth studio album Chromatica arrived in May 2020. Billed as her long-awaited return to the dancefloor, the record comprises 13 house-flavoured bops (including international chart-topper ‘Rain on Me’) bookended by gorgeous orchestral interludes, all produced by dance heavyweights ranging from BloodPop & Tchami to Axwell & Skrillex. Gaga described Chromatica as “dancing through [the] pain”, & that’s evident in the lyrics, which mask deep, meltdown-level sadness under a veneer of dancefloor euphoria. The album filters love, belonging, resilience, & depression through the prism of dance music, all the while articulating Gaga’s increasingly fraught & complex relationship with her fame, her Little Monsters, & the very nature of who ‘Lady Gaga’ is in 2020. Although the Chromatica era was curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it wrapped up in style with a brutalist-inspired stadium tour & accompanying streaming special. Chromatica has always been a polarising entry in Gaga’s catalogue & so, five years on, let’s take Gagadaily’s temperature on the record with an anniversary rate! Tbh, I think people who can read between the lines know very well that Gaga at least doesn't like Katy lol I feel that Katy is a sarcastic, condescending and hypocritical person so I don't doubt that during the ARTPOP era perhaps there have been comments heard behind the scenes from her that Gaga didn't like, we don't know what happens in Hollywood but it should tell you something that Kesha, nor Taylor (although they have settled their differences which seemed false and ingenuine to me) dont get along with her

Because its not just differing political views. Different political views are "we disagree on the best system to lift people out of poverty". Aka classic left v right. Trump & his supporters are literally deporting innocent people to foreign prisons - where some have gone missing and untraceable. Trump & his supporters are literally rounding up people on the basis of their skin colour and putting them into interment camps and cutting them off from their families and legal due process. Opposing the removal of a person's human rights on the basis of skin colour is far more than just "difference of opinions". Its about fundamentally incompatible morality.

I like some of Katy's old music but it's hard to feel any sympathy when her issues are all self inflicted wounds that could easily have been avoided. The lyrics of the song are a very fitting representation of the downfall of her career and to think she had actually built up a lot of goodwill prior to Womans World only to blow it all.

lmao I’m latina that has nothing to do with it. Anyone would have anxiety from people swarming their car and pulling on the handles.

I would never call it a feud but in my estimation Gaga doesn't like Katy, but it's more due to the kind of person Katy is and not something she has actually done to Gaga in a literal sense. Idk if Katy said anything about Gaga, but Gaga made a shady tweet about Katy copying her back in the day, and then called her 'mean' in texts to Kesha and expressed frustration that Katy hadn't spoken up re: Dr Luke. I can only speak to my own experience of being a fan, but I think the general sentiment is that it was incredibly annoying that they were constantly compared to each other when it's truly apples and oranges. Gaga has always followed her own vision whereas Katy has always been a product, and that lead to her following the 'Gaga trend' like a lot of other popstars at the time who were trying to 'out Gaga' Gaga with their clothing, performances, etc. When that stopped being 'in', Katy jumped to the next trend, and the next trend, and the next trend... But by virtue of them being huge stars at the same time, Katy's commercial success was used as a dig against ARTPOP flopping and Gaga burning out, and it emboldened Katy stans into thinking their talents were comparable Thankfully time has shown Gaga to be a once in a generation talent and Katy has shown her true colours over the years, so I guess Katy won the battle but Gaga won the war

One thing I’ve been thinking and it’s barely mentioned is the fact that she decided to put an album with all tracks being 3+min, which is totally out of the loop nowadays. This has to be taken in consideration as well as we see so many complaining about numbers. She’s actually doing AMAZING!
