Hey, Monsters Much of the forum staff will be attending the same Mayhem Ball date this September and after a bit of discussion we thought "why not do something for the community?" So, here's the idea. We wanted to give GGD members a chance to get a letter to Gaga we would then try to meet up with Bobby or even Gaga personally and hand over all the letters, bound together in a book Disclaimer: This project is entirely dependent on Bobby and Gaga's schedule the day of. There have been concert dates in the past when she's been able to make time to see GGD staff after the show and other dates where she's been entirely unavailable. We will do our absolute best to get your letters to her but please don't be too upset if things end up not working out A few notes: - Mods will be reading your letters. Anything you share is 100% confidential and judgement free. Our eyes and Bobby/Gaga's eyes will be the only ones seeing what you've written. - We don't have a hard deadline for this, probably sometime in June is when we'll send them off to be printed so we can ensure we have book in hand well before September, so you have a while to work on your letter. - Please be polite don't just write "where's Act II" four hundred times and call it a letter we want to create something that shows just how special Gaga and her work is to so many of us, to the point we spend our days together on GagaDaily. We want her to be able to open it and read any random note when she's feeling isolated from the people whose lives she's touched. - You can submit your letters via my inbox here on GGD. If you are unable to send a message to me, please tag me in this thread so I can troubleshoot and send you a message. If you have questions or suggestions, feel free to leave them! This is a community project after all52 points

"I genuinely don’t want to give anything away about Coachella. I know that is heartless of me, in a way, but I could honestly cry on the phone with you just thinking about how excited I am to do this show, and I want it to be a total surprise" - Lady Gaga via UPROXX https://x.com/gagapicturescom/status/1910026006205026305?t=MqSm2TFm0VLPvEWW1JN-MA&s=1921 points

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Lady Gaga says she’s most excited to perform “Killah” at Coachella: “The bridge just pops off and it’s going to be total mayhem, a good time. I can’t wait to play it at Coachella.” https://x.com/ladygaganownet/status/1909704422571008082?t=yFraLPBzLDY7wneVHJhMwQ&s=1921 points

“How Bad Do U Want Me” enters the Top 50 on today’s US Hot AC Radio (Mediabase) rolling chart. If it maintains its position by Sunday, it’ll officially be the 4th song from ‘Mayhem’ to chart at the format.17 points

Let's face it, she included this song to sound more mainstream because she scrapped the original Perfect Celebrity album......... edit: this is clearly satire and a joke I think ppl are thinking I was being serious lmao14 points

I'm just pissed that these kind of songs are considered now "taylor swift songs", but they are heavily inspired by the 80s-90s pop girls / girl band songs, even "that girl in your dream ain't real how bad do u want me for real" is a cute throwback to these songs.. even "tell meeeeeeeeeeeee" is such a girl band vibes. Is such a narrow minded to associated this song with Taylor Switft when there is like a huge history behind these kind of songs.13 points

I really can't understand why people want Gaga to only do stadiums? Is it only to be able to say she sold out stadiums? An arena has better sound, more visual possibilities, better effects, and no matter what you are always gonna be somewhat close to her. I went to the Chromatica Ball in a Stadium and to her other tours in arenas and it is so clear to me that everyone had a much better experience in arenas. Some fans are mad at her team for not booking stadiums, I'm super happy that they went with arenas. It's a win for everyone.12 points

I want Abracadabra vinyls, MAYHEM discounted, payola to KIIS FM in LA to put Abra on power rotation, Grindr promo, MAYHEM jockstraps/orange lube, and the return of GagaVision for Coachella. Give it to us Bobby/Gaga11 points

As much as I understand the Taylor association, GaGa wrote and recorded songs like "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)", "Earthquake", and "Fashion Of His Love", before Taylor Swift made "1989". She was making girly pop songs long before Taylor even made her transition to such musical rebranding, she was still making country pop when GaGa released those songs. I am not "annoyed" by the Taylor comparisons, because I do hear the similarities, it does sound like a Taylor Swift song from the "1989" album, but it should be remembered GaGa explored this sound ~before~ Taylor did. The only thing that annoys me is when people imply this is GaGa "reheating Taylor's nachos", or intentionally trying to capitalize off Taylor's success. I'm sure GaGa enjoys Taylor's pop efforts, and respects her as a songwriter, but I don't think she was trying to emulate her sound with the song. It sounds like "The Cure", it sounds like "Earthquake", it sounds like many other hyper feminine songs she has released in the past. I would even say songs like "Paparazzi" and "Hair", are on a similar vein too; just fun cute songs for the girlies9 points

MAYHEM has now spent four weeks in the Billboard 200 top 10; this is equal to Chromatica!9 points

Stadium most be the worst experience imo, why would pay a lot of money for bad echoed audio, a lot and i mean a lot of people, and barely watching the LCD screen that's so f away.9 points
-
I mean, I think the clear answer is that stadiums hold more people, so it's relatively easier to get a ticket compared to arenas. That said, if we're strictly talking about the show's production, I agree, arenas are better.9 points

After seeing what she and Parris were able to come up with for Abracadabra and the SNL performances, I'm so f*cking excited to see what they've come up with for Coachella Like, SNL's stages are so minuscule, and if they were able to pull off those kinds of performances (especially for Killah!), imagine what they'll do with a stage and audience that's like 1000x that7 points

Oh and just write what you feel tbh Like, for my letter I'm gonna avoid total trauma dumping but it'll definitely include plenty of "MJ carried me through my childhood, you carried me through my adolescence" type vibes though. I'm gonna let her know that Swinefest was what Monster-fied me and that I empathized with Swine and Dope in a way I hadn't connected with an artist's work since MJ. Definitely fawning over Joanne and including a bit about my grandpa. I want the whole thing to have a tone of "I, like you and many of your fans, have been through some serious sh*t, but your work has always been a source of strength and inspiration". Something uplifting so she knows her music isn't just played when we're in pain, it's played as we're healing from pain I'm also definitely including how drastically this site specifically has changed my life and I obviously wouldn't be here if she hadn't have brought this group of wild kids together. Maybe make some bullet points about the most important things you wanna tell her then elaborate on each one until you've found the sweet spot. And again, no rush, you've got a couple months to tweak it. That goes for anyone who's already sent one too, just lemme know if you edit it after sending it7 points

I really cannot see either of these things happening. I don't see why she'd retire all of her biggest hits (especially Just Dance, arguably one of her most recognisable songs) for a show attended mostly by members of the general public. Nor can I see her performing the entire album (the most I can see her performing is around 10). I think there is a chance of her retiring some of her older hits when it comes to the tour, but the last thing you want as a casual festival-goer is for an artist to only perform deep cuts and new tracks that you don't know.7 points
