i love delusion. saying shes gonna win a grammy at this stage is comical. her careers been on a steep downward trajectory for 10 years and shes just not clever enough, talented enough, or original enough to pull herself out of it. it'll probably reach a point of stable irrelevancy sometime but katy has proven time and time again things can always get worse

Today I went to Hal Leonard's website to purchase the MAYHEM PVG songbook for my piano-playing sister as a gift, and looky what I found in the sample pages preview (see "Sample Page Six"): As you may note from the image above, the preview page for "Die With A Smile" includes the subheading "from JOKER: FOLIE A DEUX." Is this an honest mistake or proof of what was supposed to be before plans changed?! Some of us suspect that DWAS was actually written by Gaga for J:FAD--not by Bruno Mars as a one-off (nice story though, Gags)--and I think we are correct. Discuss!

I’ve been saying it for years. I just think it’s time for her to strip the music down and rediscover her love and talent for guitar-driven song writing. If she’s still capable of writing an incredible song like “Thinking of You”, I genuinely think it could do wonders. We all know the GP loves Gaga doing rock ballads. Katy could absolutely capture that same type of musical wave. Those types of songs “reminds” the public that pop stars are talented songwriters and vocalists after all, and can truly rejuvenate public interest.

Guys what the hell do you think is her Mayhem tour plan? Because this CAN'T be it. There are so many factors involved none of us know what to do regarding tickets and it's actually not fair to leave it so open like this Didn't she say the tour is meant to be next year? Hasn't she made promises about it being a big one and promised a bunch of cities that aren't on the list? (from memory but correct me if I'm wrong). Is this a mini tour before her proper, full world tour? Or is this really IT? Or will she be releasing tour dates in groups and rest are yet to come? Which is a weird and unfair way of doing it. Because none of us even KNOW if she's coming to our countries/states/cities at all None of us know if we should totally empty our savings and travel halfway across the planet to see her (given this is likely her last tour for a LONG time as she's going to have kids) or if we should wait until something closer is announced. But tickets are going on sale already! So how are we supposed to decide what to do? WHY did they not just be up front about what these dates mean? Being secretive is actually so shi.t. They didn't even really announce it. It wasn't like "MAYHEM WORLD TOUR" it was just a picture thrown up with a few dates like wtf does that mean? TELL US THE PLAN. Just tell us if this is a mini tour and the big tour starts next year so we can relax. Tell us if there are more dates yet to be confirmed/added. Maybe don't put them on sale until we've been informed what's going on For example I live in a New Zealand, a country that is so isolated from the rest of the world I'd have to spend thousands of dollars to go see her. GagaRadio has been playing for the last 3 weeks on SiriusXM. It is set to be deleted on April 2nd, 2025. Agreed. It's tiring. We won, they lost. Let's move on. Gaga and Katy haven't been on the same level in over a decade. Also, the majority of Katy fans weren't even fans, they just hid behind her because she was popular. So there's really no sense in mocking or laughing at her.

Again, I feel like y’all are overcomplicating this: she saw there was demand, decided to book some venues for this year to capitalize on it, and I think it’s fair to say that the implication is that this is only the beginning of the tour. Once the show is on it’s feet (staged, rehearsed), adding more dates isn’t particularly complicated, so the idea that the tour might have multiple legs that span out over the next year or two feels the most likely. I feel like she’ll probably do what St. Vincent did: she booked a multi-continent tour in 2024 for her new album, then went back and is hitting different cities/venues/countries on each continent this year. I know it’s frustrating and a bit confusing that she hasn’t confirmed it, but I think it’s very very likely that there will be more (potentially many more) dates added for next year.

The fact that Chris thought that working with Dr. Luke, who is best known for being Katy’s producer on most of her hits and albums, again wasn’t gonna get her backlash is laughable. Look, I love 143. A lot of the songs are really good imo. The song with Doechii should’ve been a massive hit. But the GP and stans weren’t f*cking with it. WW as the lead single was an awful choice. It should’ve never been single. Hell it should’ve even not have made the album tbh. While I liked it lyrically it was outdated and the MV didn’t help either. IH,HM should’ve been the lead single followed by either Nirvana or Lifetimes. If Katy wants a hit she doesn’t need a “viral” moment. I don’t need Witness era tactics to ever make a comeback. What she needs to do is simply go back to her sound on her debut album and work from there. Don’t ever work with Dr. Luke again and fire Chris bc clearly he no longer has Katy’s best interests at heart with the way he discussed 143 and the rollout.

Katy is a perfect example of failing to read the room ever since Witness and the whole 143 era was painful to watch. I have good memories of her old hits and was rooting for her to beat the flop allegations and make a comeback. There was a lot of hype at first but she and her team proceeded to miscalculate at every turn. She needs to stop trying to force a hit by rehashing inferior versions of old sounds/themes and just make a good album that comes from a place of authencity. Anything could happen but I don't see how Katy really fits into a world where pop is more exciting than ever. The fact that the mainstream finally caught up to a pop artist as left field and influential in the underground as Charli XCX is reflective of the shift.

I took her wording to mean that she was not planning on touring this year after Coachella, Rio, Mexico and Singapore BUT now she is touring this year with ZERO promise or hint of anything else to come after. She may add dates but I doubt she tours in 2026 since she is pushing it up a year like she implied.

as I said in another topic: i'm guessing these dates were planned for 2026 but she was able to push them forward. bet we'll get more arena dates in 2026. She did say in her post that she wasn't planning to tour after the other shows "this year", that sounds specific.
