  1. It currently sits as her first Universally Acclaimed album, and is her highest rated album ever - beating Chromatica at 79! NOTE: The score has no settled and either has the chance to lower or rise - but this is a great sign still! https://www.metacritic.com/music/mayhem/lady-gaga/critic-reviews EDIT: It’s now at 84! Still a slay

  3. https://twitter.com/ladygaganownet/status/1898031393495548307 "Monsters: For nearly two decades, we've known and loved each other. You've been with me and my music through so many twists and turns. Whether I'm writing about the chaos of disease, witches casting spells in a nightclub, waking up as a zombie after being bitten on the dance floor, the strange way fame can feel like having a clone, or disappearing into pop oblivion with the person you love—you've always reminded me that I can be exactly who I want to be. Because when I looked out into the crowd, you were always exactly who you wanted to be. In all the ways we didn't know who we were back then, we've been finding ourselves together. And I think I'm still doing that with you. Thank you for being on this ride with me, no matter what. I'm truly, exceptionally, unspeakably grateful for that. My wish is that when you listen to these songs, you find a place to pour out all your negative thoughts and let the music carry you away—away from your own mayhem and into the mayhem of the music. I want to give special thanks to my love, Michael, for the beautiful work you poured into this album every single day for over a year—and beyond. Your encouragement and love were constant, but you're also a completely brilliant creative partner. I've always been a renaissance woman, and I've often felt misunderstood anytime someone tried to put me in a box. I think we're so similar in that way. You can do anything. I've never seen anyone work as hard as you do. I don't think anyone in my life understands MAYHEM the way you do. I love this album with you. Thank you for making MAYHEM with me. Thank you to Andrew Watt and Cirkut for their tireless work and endless talent. Thank you to Gesaffelstein and Bruno Mars for sharing with me their artistry and for supporting me in mine. Thank you to Paul Lamalfa, Tyler Hart, Serban Ghenea, Randy Merrill, Bobby Campbell, Lindsay Shane, Stacey Quinn, Sonya Guardo, Bryan Lourd, John Janick, Steve Berman, and the Interscope team. Thank you to Arthur Fogel and Live Nation. Thank you to Todd Tours and Mel Roy. Well Monsters: here we are again. Face to face. I made this for you."

  17. I'm still listening but I think it best encapsulates the LADY GAGA sound. She's 80s, she's theatre, she's electronic, she's campy, she's hard, she's soft, she's Lady, she's Gaga!

  24. No, Born This Way is. If the album was like Abracadabra throughout then maybe. But Born This Way was much more experimental and unique, especially for its time.

  25. This is her best album in my opinion. The melodies, vocals, and production are so beautiful and addicting. Each song has a unique vibe, but they all work together incredibly well. The melodies and lyrics omg I can't get over how good they are.

  27. I already see stan twitter twisting this sadly. The same album with different color discs are not variants. You are still getting the same album. If fans buy 4 copies for some reason that is up to them. At least Gaga is not purposefully persuading fans to but more copies by adding different demos or voice notes in each version. She has only stuck to the typical deluxe tracks.

  32. Im going to go out on a limb… and drag me all you want I don’t care. But if you were in diapers, or you weren’t even old enough to legally drive when Gaga hit the scene, your opinion on this album is trash. This was made for us oldies, us geezers, those of us who were hitting the club seeing Gaga when tickets were $5-10. This is such a seriosuly hard hitting slap of nostalgia that transcends far beyond the song itself. After listening to this album multiple times with various other crusties over 30yo who have been there since the beginning…AS PAYING ADULTS…. this album far exceeds anything and everything we could have hoped for. The types of reviews we gave were insane. We were all literally transported back to often forgotten and serious moments in our lives. Gaga really did this album for us OGs. Babies,… if it’s not your tea go do you boo and relive Brat summer or something. But don’t you ever dare deny us legacies the ability to revel in something that truly strikes an intense chord. We paved the damn road and walked so that you could prance and frolic. So while you give your annoying critiques, just remember those who supported Gaga from the get go, to allow you to even have a commercially successful Gaga to love to begin with. My crusty arse is telling you, for us oldies, I don’t know if it gets much better than this album (except for BTW). I still cannot breathe. Help us support our queen.

  38. idk what I wanted, I just wanted new music and I want gaga to surprise me rather than "going back" to her old self. she can reference it for sure, like she did with some songs on Mayhem, but I honestly, truly, don't want another LG1-6, part of being fan of gaga is to discover new genres and to discover her new side of her artistry.

  41. Thesis incoming. Okay. Just got home from work in Ireland and got to listen to it. I have major thoughts. I actually made notes when listening 😂 First of all I'm not getting where the negativity and disappointment is coming from. This album is a slam dunk. It's the album I always wanted from her! Lyrically it's her best work in such a long time. There's huge relatability in the lyrics and they're really visually descriptive putting you in the setting of the song. I was worried because I thought Abracadabra wasn't lyrically strong but the rest of the album shows just what she has in her! The guitars permeating the album satisfy the Rock-Ga fantasy that I always hoped for. Living. The harmonies are silky as **** and the production is insanely smooth when compared to the aggressive overproduction of BTW. I hear Gaga's entire discography all over this. The Fame, ARTPOP and BTW style vocals and melodies peppered throughout. No massive skips but HBDYWM, DCT would qualify. Sonically, I hear major 70s, 80s and 90s influences. I hear influence from Hole and Republica. Gwen Stefani with Hollaback Girl. Killah is funk with 90s R&B vibes. Guitars on Zombieboy are electric! I hear TS in How Bad Do You Want Me and it would fit right on the soundtrack of Heartstopper. Phil Collins In The Air Tonight vibes on The Beast. Blade of Grass is a bit Lana but I also hear early Radiohead in the production and her voice. Can't specifically pinpoint songs, I'd need more time with it. Her voice sounds like her younger voice from earlier eras. It has a nostalgic feeling while also feeling modern and different from everything else that's popular at the minute. I was so sad when it was over but haven't been this happy about a Gaga album in ages. Far superior to ARTPOP and Chromatica. Easier listening than BTW. Just a brilliant album. Brilliant.
