To lighten up the mood a bit, Abra is still out-streaming other releases like Born Again by Doja Cat, LISA and Raye, Sabrina’s deluxe tracks, The Weeknd’s album bomb, and only one song of off Drakes new album is entering the top 10 ahead of us. while Abra is currently underperforming, its actually doing better than other new releases.

The good thing is, even if abra weakens in streams, it brought a huge global attention to gaga and her new + old music. That means that the release of the album will bring a lot of curiosity from the general public. The hype for gaga's new music is much much bigger than when Chromatica came out, not only bc of DWAS but mostly bc people saw on social media that with abra gaga is back to her roots.

Honestly, if Abracadabra can just hit top 10 during album release week, I’m fine with it. I wish it would see the grand commercial success that it deserves given how incredible it is, but with 17 years in the game, I’m not upset if Gaga can’t really get an unequivocal solo smash with the same ease as her 20s. I think the tour is gonna be the big indicator of her vitality as a pop icon, anyway. My view on Gaga stanning is “music, THEN the bling.” She did the most important thing — craft a genuinely good dark pop banger with an amazing video. The music/art comes first, and then the accolades and commercial success can follow, but if it doesn’t, we’ll be ok. I know we’re in the chart thread — I obviously find charts fun — but I don’t think chart stats should detract from our overall enjoyment of the music.

The thing is, the song aint gonna survive on its own with just some tiktoks. DWAS got physicals on release day, they had two performances on Vegas that people made kinda viral with their slow dancing, they had the pop-up stores set up for a week or two, then you had Bruno performing it on tour + they had other activities DWAS related on the outside of the shows. Abracadabra has a MV on Grammy night (cool, it worked for a few days) and that's it. And before anyone takes this the wrong way, I still love the songs, both Disease and Abracadabra, but it's sad that we don't get to see the vision with live performances or other visuals.
