With DWAS' monstrous number of streams, honestly, this is not surprising. DWAS is the fastest song to reach 900 millions, 1 billion, 1.1 billion, 1.2 billion, and with the update today 1.3 billion streams on Spotify history. DWAS took 123 days to reach 1.3 billions while BOAF who previously held this record took 158 days. It is more than a month faster! DWAS is on track of being the fastest to reach 1.4 (likely going to happen on new year's eve or new year's day) and 1.5 billions and probably so much more... We'll see how well it keeps its streams.19 points

Full lawsuit: https://static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics/documenttools/1629cc34e562e325/4410b1d9-full.pdf Blake Lively has filed a lawsuit against her former ‘It Ends with Us’ co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and a coordinated effort to destroy her reputation. The lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, claims that Baldoni’s behavior created a hostile work environment during the film’s production. Lively alleges the situation became so severe that an all-hands-on-deck meeting was called to address the issues, with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, among the attendees. Lively’s legal team outlines a series of demands she made in response to Baldoni’s alleged conduct, including requests for no more showing of nude videos or images of women, cessation of discussions about Baldoni’s alleged ****ography addiction, and no further comments about her weight or deceased father. She also requested that no additional explicit scenes, including sex or oral sex, be added to the script without her approval. According to the lawsuit, these demands were approved by the studio. Despite these actions, the lawsuit claims the film’s marketing became a point of conflict. Lively wanted the film to focus on her character’s resilience, while Baldoni favored emphasizing the theme of domestic violence. Lively alleges that Baldoni and his team then orchestrated a "social manipulation" campaign to damage her reputation, causing both personal and professional harm. The suit includes texts from Baldoni’s publicist discussing how to "bury" Lively’s image. source source https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/21/business/media/blake-lively-justin-baldoni-it-ends-with-us.html?smtyp=cur&smid=tw-nytimes15 points

But didnt most of the reactions come from her own interviews or how she behaved in them? What did Baldoni have to do with that? She was busy promoting her hair brand during a promotion of her movie about domestic violence.14 points

If Bruno, with DWAS and APT is only an honourable mention, Gaga is not on the list. DWAS yes it was huge, but what else did she do? Chromatica ball on Max, Harlequin album (aka something the GP never latched on), and Disease, the song that underperformed next to DWAS. maybe next year9 points

I was going to say that 4 is technically quadruple of 1, but I didn't want to kick a Dark Horse when it's down.8 points

RUMOR : According Deuxmoi, Gaga filmed a video this week with Bruno Mars, Rosé and the rapper Sexyy Red. The filming of a video in L.A. this week has been confirmed by L.A. Times. And Sexyy Red just followed Lady Gaga on Instagram 👀 https://x.com/gaga_latest/status/1870212625738469743?t=VJIv4XBryHNKnDqLU7OU8A&s=197 points

Seriously, guys, Gaga gave a whole lot of herself this 2024 in a way she hasn't in years. We were blessed with many different projects, music pieces, and performances, with some being a bit more commercially successful than others, but in the end we're still very grateful for her contributions! We were very spoiled this year with so much different art and music coming from her. 2025 is also shaping up to be even bigger too which is insane to even imagine. Hot take: i think it's ok to let her have a "bling" (play the game) moment this time around with DWAS. Yes, yes, i'm aware of "music not the bling", but guys Gaga is a major artist and will always have to balance the two. It doesn't mean she's throwing her "artistic integrity" away! Far from it. Hell "DWAS" may just be added to a deluxe who knows? In the end, DWAS still her song too, big moment obviously, for Bruno too and personally I play Disease/DWAS back to back quite a bit haha Also during the pandemic she pretty much let the Chromatica album speak for itself so sometimes, the scale can be tipped. Bring on the multiple chaos of LG7 Gags! We thank u dearly for 2024 !6 points

First, I find DWAS lyrically related to the dark nature of LG7. The song discusses about an apocalyptic situation where the future of our love life appears bleak. Bruno sings about a bad dream, "You and I had to say goodbye", "But since I survived, I realized". That means Gaga probably didn't survive that dream Gaga also responds, "Lost, lost in the words that we sCreAm, I don't even wanna do this anymore", showcasing Gaga is on the verge of giving up survival She also mentions about the war which is not really worth more than their love. Then, they both throw light on the apocalypse in these lines, "If the world is ending, I wanna be next to you", "Our time on Earth was through", "I wanna hold you for a while, and die with a smile" The end is near and inevitable. They are spending their final movements together. They brace themselves for it, and finally ready to pass away but happily with a smile 🥲 The song brings love and hope in the most hellish situation. We can face death gracefully while we have personal movements with our lover And I believe it is important to have a positive, hopeful note to a supposedly dark album, as Gaga herself mentions that it is like a missing piece which can make LG7 complete Thank you6 points

Top tier look, and imo, the best performance of "Judas" when considering vocals, choreography, stage design, and fashion.6 points

I know we’re all upset, but can we talk about the fact that she finally after over a decade since ARTPOP she finally feels comfortable to genre bend again6 points

Reminder the GAGA: CHROMATICA BALL premiere had many interviews where she spoke about the direction of LG7 and both "genre bending" and "pushing sound", were all there guys. And this was back in May FYI. Dark/electronic pop will obviously be incorporated (Disease, Abracadabra, Notorious), but LG7 will delve into other territory too as we can see with the "zombie gay" snippet, Gaga mentioning "dreamy" section in Rolling Stone and now DWAS, which will be a nice ending to the album me thinks (hopefully) If you really believe she scrapped most of LG7 to create more DWAS inspired tracks then you may be delusional. Buckle up!! We are so closeeeee.5 points

I mean, sure, SZA is likely to get a ton of tracks into the top 10-20 this week, but the top song would need to like double the performance of “APT.” on streaming its 2nd week to even compete with DWAS because of the Radio gap. It’s not like DWAS is #1 on Spotify global with like 2M streams, it’s still pulling monstrous numbers in addition to its strong Radio points. At this point, I’ve accepted #2 will be its peak so I can be pleasantly surprised, but constantly posting that some new release is a major threat is just illogical. If it gets blocked, it’ll be from a huge viral moment nobody could predict.5 points

Girl, reading that thread pissed me off so much. The overreactions are insane and completely hypocritical. Little monsters want commercial success, but when when it happens they turn into the art police and question Gaga’s “artistic integrity.” Or they say they’re excited when Gaga says the album is gonna be chaotic and full of different genres, but then they complain that Disease and DWAS aren’t “cohesive.” Or they say that she’s lost her “artistic vision” even though she’s been at her best, artistically, in YEARS. I mean, Harlequin, DWAS, and Disease?! Hello?! Some of her best projects in FOREVER and y’all are complaining that she’s now a slave to the machine and doesn’t care about her art? Stfu5 points
