Because I personally feel that Gaga isn’t a mainstream artist and only was one for a bit because it was literally a one once in a lifetime thing. She’s an alternative artist through and through. She takes risk , she’s not afraid to fail. I’ve always placed Gaga with artist like Bjork, Marylin Manson types but even better. Mainstream artist are palpable to the masses , alternative artist are not.

From ATRL Another outfit request by Gaga's style team today, for a video shoot in December. Last time this happened in early October to another Chinese stylist (as I first reported here too), and half a month later, Disease came out, so this might mean it's for the 2nd single music video. If there is no new competition and DWAS remains stable the way it is, then I would say yes! DWAS is increasing for about 10% in points!! While the only non-christmas song from Kendrick is already dropping in points. Also, we are already 20 points ahead of A Bar Song. Birds of a Feather is no danger. If there is no instant hit coming up, then we have a fair chance!! The only risk we have is that radio drops DWAS after Christmas in favor of some other songs like Taste.

She isn’t safe or predicable, like Taylor and many other artists. You also can’t fit her into one box so I feel like everything she does appeals to different types of people, and this varies project to project. To put it simply, you don’t need to promote McDonalds, people will pretty much go no matter what. A Michelin Star restaurant though….

They then rolled out DWAS before the movie released to keep her mainstream image intact, and then dropped Disease as a promo lead after J:FAD released to sandwich the movie with another single (this time aimed at keeping her fanbase image intact). Now they're using the christmas freeze to let the rest of the J:FAD press completely dry up. I understand peoples frustrations that the lead single didn't get a ton of promo like most lead singles normally do, but given the timeline and lack of physical release, it would seem that Disease was a promo single meant to have the fanbase hold space until 2025. The November/December holiday gap is real and would have upended any promo people are "missing" this year anyway. Not that their was much to go on anyway, all the award shows are in the Spring.

Gaga's biggest hits were all made in Logic. While they record and mix vocals in Pro Tools, the beats and instrumentals are composed in Logic. Pro Tools is great for tracking vocals but lacks an intuitive workflow for composing or making beats. RedOne mostly used Logic ES2 presets for making those songs... At this point she's basically universally known but not universally liked. She tends to be very divisive and even people who don't know her well have some sort of opinion about her, pretty much the love it or hate it situation.

The yearly Dutch top 2000 of all time has been released today. It is a fan-voted list, and mainly older men vote for it. Again Bohemian Rapsody is the #1. Gaga has 6 entries, with Shallow being the highest at #44! Normally Gagas next song is ARUTW, but ofcourse 12 week #1 smash DWAS had entered the list, at 194, one of the big new entries.
