Beyonce may have the moves and the voice, and taylor may have the popularity (?), but gaga is truly THE popstar. I'd be okay if she was 5th on best singers or whatever, but when it comes to being a popstar no one comes close.

OP was reaching in some aspects but i don't think they exaggerated the praise gaga received for joker. The underutilisation of gaga is always mentioned in every credible review if not the focal point. And No, "multiple of her peers" cant do this easily because no artist in the industry today is as versatile and well rounded as gaga in terms of Talent, Artistic credibility, critical and commercial success, recognition amoung her peers and cultural relevance. She's not No.1 in every list but she damn well represented in every facet of entertainment. Even though it wasn't your intention, it's confusing how your point is to "enjoy the art for what it is" yet you couldn't help but parade stan twitter rhetoric that discredit credibility or reception of gagas work. Part of enjoying the art for what it is is recognising the wins that everyone disregards when it comes to gaga but overhypes when it comes to other artists.

Disappointed by all the numbers of Gaga’s recent projects (except DWAS but it should still chart higher). But you know what? Success or not, the 2nd half of the year is so amazing to witness. Late 2024 alone destroys 2016 to early 2024 imo. DWAS is perfect. Harlequin is perfect. Disease is perfect. All the LG7 snippets sound perfect.

People need to get over the fact that Britney is odd. She's literally a millenial mom, and this is her unfiltered, non-curated personality. Half of my relatives, or acquaintances online, act as cringe as she does, use unflattering filters, share random quotes, etc. She's just acting her age without a team curating everything she posts to make her look more glamorous or interesting than she actually is, like most celebrities. And you should also factor that Britney Spears never had a normal teenagehood, or adult life for that matter. She became famous as a child, spent her teenage years as a superstar, and spent most of her adult life medicated and controlled. Her social skills will be different. Things that are normal for most adults, are still exciting for her; she was literally getting emotional over the fact that she can go out and have a glass of wine now, not so long ago. She will feel the urge to do things that we were allowed to do as kids and teenagers, that she wasn't. Let her be weird, and be cringe.

I'm not saying this in a vindictive or malicious way, but I don't really care...And I feel like some people need to learn not to care too. I know it's heavily ingrained in stan culture to care about the charts and our fave's performances, but I genuinely couldn't care less that Disease isn't doing as well as we would like. Sure, in a perfect world she'd be #1 everywhere and everyone would be streaming the song and watching the video, but at this point, I'm more interested in the art than the charts. Disease is one of the most interesting songs she's released in a long time and judging from what we have so far, LG7 looks to be a return to form for Gaga in many ways. This sound and aesthetic is everything I've wanted from Gaga for a long time and even if it doesn't do well commercially, I couldn't be happier with it right now. LG7 could be her biggest flop, but from a purely artistic perspective, I'll still love it. Let's also remember that many of us wanted Gaga to return to this dark aesthetic and try to go for this industrial/electronic/dance/dark pop sound. That is frankly just not something much of the GP is interested in or can digest. We can't have it both ways: you can't expect smashing success when you have a sound/aesthetic similar to this.
