  4. I honestly find the video in full color without any overlays, filters or tints more haunting and in line with the premise of the song's production and lyrics. That's what makes it more uncomfortable and unsettling because she's illustrating how perfection doesn't exist even in the suburban landscape. If anything it's a paradox illustrating that even in something that is supposed to be, look, or come off as safe and secure, there are variables that will find their way toward "running you down" or "holding you down" and that these inner demons can exist at any point in time even when we feel secure in our surroundings.

  5. So much negativity lmao, stream the music, get off this f’ing site and enjoy the art. My god. Song was released literally 5 days ago and you’re saying the LG7 era doesn’t look promising? Seriously, wtf — who, what, where, when and why? All because of impossible metrics many of you hyper-fixate on even though she cannot (nor has she even shown in interest to) fulfill? So many of you here are literally the disease she’s talking about and you fail to even see it lol

  6. You guys saying there's no choreo... every f*cking move she makes in that video is choreographed. What are you even talking about?

  9. The Disease music video is everything. Dark, gagging, high fashion, weird, confusing, artistic. Her best music video since at least the ARTPOP era. Gaga, if you see this, we love you and thank you for this gift. Happy Halloween indeed!

  10. im so angry with some of y’all that i need to speak in my mother tongue malditos homosexuales no se conforman con nada!!!!!! el video es fantástico, y a pesar de tener horror es cinematográficamente hermoso!!!! Gaga se ve hermosa. No se merecen nada, todo les parece mal.. necesitan una vida urgente!

  11. I reeeeeally hope she keeps this artistic/cinematic approach to her videos instead of the traditional pop video formula. Not every mainstream pop artist could pull out this song + video combo in a convincing way like she did, she's settting herself apart from her peers. I'm happy in a very deep level because I feel like she's being honest to her artistry.

  12. Mindblowing. I actually love that there's no choreo, since it makes it more eerie and strange. Choreos have a yassifying factor that would have not the best option in my opinion. It's meant to be puzzling and even slightly traumatizing.

  14. do you guys not understand that the moves gaga is doing in the music video are...literally choreographed? there's no way ya'll are this dense.

  15. Both videos were very “on brand” it just so happens that one brand is high end luxury and the other is in the bogo bin at the back of your local discount store with three price drop stickers layered over the barcode.

  16. Excuse me? You throw around "failure" so liberally. Harlequin is a masterpiece, don't get it twisted. Lady Gaga was praised critically despite Joker 2 flopping in the box office. Chromatica Ball Film's sole purpose was not to win an Emmy Award bffr, that would just have been a bonus. The release itself was the win. Most pop girls' specials don't even get nominated. And Disease has gotten positive reactions across the board despite not debuting with huge numbers. It also finally gave us the DarkGa everyone has been craving for. All these things you so casually brand as failures are amazing expressions of Gaga's artistry. Don't reduce her work to mere numbers. She doesn't have to prove herself to you in that way anymore.

  19. So, when we got the first visual teasers for the song, we were presented with these SAW-looking images of an old TV, with saturated greens, and a very stylized approach: However, when the first clips of the video were posted, and I took a peek at Tanu Muiño's work, it was clear to me that was not going to be the artistic direction for the video. HOWEVER, after watching the video, I couldn't help myself, and for curiosity's sake, I edited it to more closely resemble the aesthetic we were originally presented with, on the teasers: It's such an interesting contrast, because it truly is just a shift in the color palette, yet the end result brings quite a different experience. I feel like particularly the indoor scenes, benefit greatly from a colder palette, as it reinforces the claustrophobic feeling of the song. Certain scenes feel more unsettling when presented in a more distant, colder manner. It adds to the idea of the solitude present in a battle with one self. The decision of filming most of the video in broad daylight, informs the tone. And it may have diminished the impact, of the horror imagery from certain shots. Some of the makeup looks also gain depth when stylized in fantasy lighting, as it strenghtens the eerieness of the aesthetic approach. Of course, not every single shot benefits from excessive styling. There are moments from the video which work very well in natural lighting, like the car chasing scene. The seemingly normal and tranquil environment, clashes with the perceived danger of the situation, and it works. But it is impossible for me not to notice how the more horror-like elements do feel more organic, when presented in a highly stylized way. So that's literally it. I was just wondering how the video would look like, if it was edited like the teasers . The natural lighting approach works for me, on certain scenes, but for visuals like the cell battle, I would've preferred a more stylized delivery .

  23. I dont think we realize how talented and lucky Gaga is for having such a moment, almost 17 years into her career. A #1 colosal hit, praise for her pop single all across the board, high expectations for her new album... 17 years in the game and she still captivates the audience everytime she moves. You know why? Chart success is limited. Talent is forever. Meryl Streep had countless flops, but nobody questions her status. Same with every single megastar. Gaga's career is in great shape, and i'm enjoying every second of it.

  26. This video is a love letter to performance art. Gaga has outdone herself. Instead of pandering to a pop-princess audience, she has once again affirmed her position as the strongest leading female performance artist. She tells the most compelling story in this film and uses her own body to do so with everything she's got, and by standing alone has showcased that she is and always has been, the show. I am in love with this. For her to evolve in this way and pay homage to her own art form has moved me deeply, and I am forever grateful for her service to art.

  28. All the meltdowns is because you wanted a huge instant hit to brag and drag other fanbases on Twitter That's the level of lame this fanbase has reached DWAS literally her song, is the biggest hit of the year, literally 16 years into her career she's still slaying the charts, that should be enough to calm you chart hunger, but no, you wanted the solo hit narrative to battle with swifties and beyhives online We are getting fed, with the kind of music we care begging her to do for years and also slaying the charts, all at once Enjoy damn

  29. And I am annoyed at people reducing Gaga's role in Die With A Smile... even calling it "a Bruno Mars song." Some fans y'all are. If you pay attention, it has all the marks of her songwriting as heard on ASIB. Fans like you don't deserve anything from her. You people are poison.

  33. I know everyone’s dogging on it for not having choreo but am I the only one who thinks a choreo scene with dancers would’ve actually… taken away from the video? I think the cinematography.. art direction.. what have you.. speaks for itself and imo a random choreo scene (especially one that a lot of people here wanted) would’ve probably made the video seem silly Anyways I loved it!

  35. I think it's meant to be unnerving and demonstrate inner turmoil rather than featuring some big slay choreo. It is unhinged, chaotic and confusing like ours minds are when we battle inner demons. There's also a lot of subliminal imagery - like being tied up and stepping on yourself basically just symbolises how we do that to ourselves mentally when we are in a bad place. The last bits are about facing your demons with courage and embracing it but then running away again because maybe you weren't ready - much like the how life keeps you in a loop of making you face and run away from your fears over and over again. I'm actually happy there's no big choreo, and there's a lot of layers instead. It makes a lot of sense on a second watch for me at least.

  42. That scene when she's suspended and treading over her own body is a masterpiece. The choreography in it, the unease it causes (a dark figure watching, being in an impossible situation, the torture, the lighting) and on top of that she's serving ****ing CVNT 😭😭😭 It's visually stimulating, creepy and bombastic. I haven't seen this from her in years. Incredible, 14 more of these please.
