  3. A topic very near and dear to my collecting heart is wheatpaste posters! As many of you know I've been collecting them and ripping them off walls with boxcutters since 2011 and lo and behold, someone APPROVES OF THIS BEHAVIOUR Yesterday, Gaga (who seems to be spending loads of time on TikTok) was caught liking this post: https://x.com/babsdoeslife/status/1842795960654868778 Comments like *this* one make my heart soar, because it shows that the hobby is spreading to other little monsters! For the record, I just did this for my friend Bay in Los Angeles last month for GagaMars: I am so proud of these kids. Get out there and GET THAT PROMO PS: If you want to see almost my entire Gaga wheatpaste collection, I've made a Twitter thread here: https://x.com/ChicaSkas/status/1843088278574264435

  4. I enjoyed the film and have been trying to stay off social media to avoid the discourse, but was scrolling through insta and noticed this. Yikes The comment suggests it's aimed at Todd and not Gaga obvs, but that's interesting she liked it in the first place when she literally worked on the film...

  6. Lady Gaga's HARLEQUIN is officially a #1 Billboard Jazz Album. Her 3rd #1 Jazz album in her career following CHEEK TO CHEEK & LOVE FOR SALE. So this week, Gaga has the #1 song + #1 movie worldwide, & #1 Jazz Album at least in the USA. https://www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/lady-Gaga-harlequin-number-one-jazz-charts-top-5-on-album-sales-1235795418/

  7. Lady Gaga is 'disappointed' at the immense flood of negative reactions to Joker: Folie à Deux, with the singer's team now keen to quickly push out other projects to help distract from the furor over the film, insiders claim. Todd Phillips‘ sequel was officially released in theaters on October 4, but despite expectations, it bombed, raking in just under $40 million at the domestic box office, and receiving the lowest CinemaScore in comic book movie history. Gaga, 38, is reportedly confused at the lack of love for her turn as Harleen Lee Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn, alongside Joaquin Phoenix, 49, as the Joker - a role that won him the best actor Oscar in 2019 - in the wake of the standing ovation it received at the Venice Film Festival last month. 'Gaga is surprised by the response to Joker 2 and is shocked that people don’t love it after the response it received from critics before it premiered,' a source exclusively told DailyMail.com. 'She put so much heart into the movie and has so much respect for the DC comics fan base.' They added: 'Her team is quietly looking at other projects they can roll out as they want to move on this from as quickly as possible.' But despite the lackluster reception from fans, a second source claimed she is not letting it deter her from returning to the big screen, with the singer said to be eyeing up a Quentin Tarantino movie. 'She is disappointed that Joker is pretty much a bomb,' they said. 'She thought that this film could get her an Oscar nomination, especially since the first film was such a success and Joaquin won an Oscar. 'She would now like to land a role in Quentin Tarantino's next and final film. Nobody knows what that is going to be, but she wants to audition. 'She's going to lobby hard to get a meeting with him once a script is presented, it is a bucket list moment for her to be involved.' Tarantino was set to create The Movie Critic which would have been his tenth and final film, but on April 17, sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the project was canceled. The famed director is now believed to be working up a new project to mark his final cinematic release. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13933745/amp/lady-Gaga-joker-2-shock-poor-reaction-flop-joaquin-phoenix.html

  10. Apart from that, he doesn't seem to care about Harley's complexity as a character than Joker. You can clearly see that in his writing. He builds his narrative around completely around Joker without much interest in Harley. And the whole "but the film is called Joker!" argument isn't even valid because plenty of movies centring around the male lead have been able to write very complex female leads alongside them. Todd Phillips just doesn't understand what makes a woman complex. Bradley does. In his only two attempts at directing/writing a movie, his two female leads are nominated for Oscars (Carey Mulligan for Maestro, Gaga for ASIB).

  13. The only mistake anyone made was blowing $200 million on this lol. It's a good movie for what it is. It could've been made way cheaper and been successful.

  14. This guy does a GREAT job highlighting the positive aspects of the film. I watch his channel often, he watches and reviews all kind of movies and shows and has interesting commentary. He's been reacting to AHS and loved Gaga in Hotel. In his review he actually gave Joker a 9.5 out of 10 I highly recommend this video, he puts the themes of the film into perspective very clearly. This next guy is a big DC fan. He's more lukewarm on the movie (giving it a 3 out of 5) but still gives it flowers where it deserves them, and explains how the controversial ending has a purpose and meaning. Although I don't agree with all his interpretations. This last guy is also a massive DC fanboy and leading up to the film, he made countless videos breaking down all the set photos and clues, highly anticipating the movie. He's not in love with the movie but can intelligently deconstruct it, despite most fanboys blindly hating. Just wanted to share that despite the critical and box office failure, there is a portion of the audience who appreciated the strange approach and subversion of expectations. I anticipate this audience will grow over time as the initial conversation dies out and people later reflect on the movie for what it is, instead of what it could have been. We might have a cult classic on our hands.

  16. I didn't watch a ton of Todd's interviews so I really don't know his mindset. However, out of all of the critiques I have seen about the film, cutting scenes that you relentlessly used for promo is the main thing I'm upset about, and doesn't seem respectful to the actor or the team. I can see how Gaga's team would feel upset that their hard work was basically just used for marketing.

  34. I lost a lot of respect for Todd Phillips after this project. Very few writers write and create from that authentic place of care and love for their characters. Todd is not one of them. He is so easily swayed by the audience and studio interference, he doesn't know how to stand his ground as an artist. Bradley does, and that's why ASIB and Maestro are masterpieces even if Bradley's reputation is pretty shaky itself. Even voters who found Bradley a bit dramatic cannot deny the merit in his directing, writing and acting.
