Next time Gaga performs, we should start two separate threads: one for the haters and complainers, and another for positive feedback. I hate letting negative comments affect me when I truly enjoyed her performance. She did exactly the right thing. The French producers reached out to her because of her cabaret background, which she showcased during her tours and on French television. The French love her for that, and she paid homage to it. We should be thankful that they even had this idea. It's also refreshing that she chose not to sing an Edith Piaf song. By the way, the general media in Europe loved her performance, which makes me so happy. Her career strategy is paying off: choosing wisely, not overexposing herself, and keeping her mental and physical health in mind.

The camera work was way too wide too many times which is obviously out of Gaga's control. If you get an establishing shot, you don't need to show the background as much. I get it, it's a pretty river scene but the focus should be the performance. In general, it was cute & fun performance but was hoping Gaga's performance was more like Celine's. An Edith Piaf number on the Eiffle tower? I mean c'mon doesn't get any more oui oui baguette than that. Celine whole heartedly deserved that moment though.

Stop comparing her to the other tableaux we had… Aya was here to show that everybody is accepted in the French Republic therefore singing with the republican orchestra. Gaga would not have sung imagine, Juliette armamet did a great job. and Céline is… Céline.. the most popular French speaking singer. She deserved the platform she had. Gaga had the honor to open the ceremony, she loved what she did and she did a great rendition to cabaret. She can’t always have the biggest platform. The less experimental tracks like TEOG, MTN, and Y&I are still absolutely bombastic, Judas and Scheisse have BR shaking, a track as simple as HML has of the best melodies in pop music history, and then you have Electric Chapel, Government Hooker, and Bloody Mary. Even the relative duds like Highway Unicorn have incredibly complex production and despite being one of the weaker songs the last minute of The Queen is a career highlight. I know we worship the album already and I can tell it's Gaga's favorite album of hers but truly it's the best pop music album I've heard along with RoL. Just some loud excellence - and to think she recorded the album on a f*cking tour bus

The complaining is honestly clown behavior, she did a fantastic job giving homage to French Cabaret. The camera angles looked fine to me.

Lady Gaga is insanely talented in so many ways. Over the years, she’s gained a ton of different fans as she’s explored her various creative interests. This means that this site is filled with pop fans, jazz fans, musical fans, movie fans, etc. I think this explains some of the division that has cropped up in these forums over the years. There are people here who love pretty much everything she does (🙋🏻‍♂️) but you also have some people that only like one aspect of her creative output. If you don’t love her jazz work, you might not enjoy this performance, and that’s alright. It doesn’t take an ounce of enjoyment away from me.
