  1. Gaga is my comfort person when I'm down, and right now I really appreciate the Chromatica album and era, and in particular this interview where she describes overcoming a long depressive episode and other mental health issues in creating this album. I think this might be my favourite interview she's ever done, it really speaks to me and gives me a lot of hope for my own life. Thank you Lady G 💗 All of the songs on the album resonate with me from time to time but currently it's Fun Tonight Feelin' something that I can't explain Think it's a wound I still entertain I'd do anything to numb the flame I guess I'm just on fire these days I can't see straight, I can't see me There's too much hurt caught in between Wish I could be what I know I am This moment's hijacked my plans I'm also so excited to see where the next era takes us in this new happier phase of her life. 🖤

  4. Not me thinking she was gonna have songs like Club Oldies, Empathy is a Dagger, I might say something silly, Silence Silence, Ed Hardy, Fast Forward, Nothing is Romantic, Boy So Confusing, Nice Girls, etc.

  5. Jokes aside I find it so stupid for them to release that snippet, should've been teased closer to an actual date so the hype led to something actually happening. All that's left is frustration and social media already forgot about it. You haven't released an album in 4 years then compulsively tease from January to May, then the night of the biggest thing you've done this year (TCB) you tease a snippet and leave like nothing happened?? I would've expected that single to be released at midnight that same night if not announced the next day, I don't get their logic, but oh well

  8. A v necessary thread. Chromatica is so overlooked to me. And those Fun Tonight lyrics you mentioned are my favourite lyrics from the whole album. "Wish I could be what I know I am" is such a beautifully simple way of describing how we all feel at times.

  10. Imagine Gaga logging on to instagram, make a post for Vegas, and then say “oh and I have more news tomorrow 😉” … and then announce that her Vegas contract is renewed and she’ll be doing another 300 shows the day after. I wonder if that would be “hell” enough for her to actually release the damn single

  11. Inb4 announcement next month: I want to reveal something that I've been keeping a secret for the last TWO MONTHS, the same way my last ex-boyfriend was keeping secrets from me...A wounded and betrayed woman can be able to turn the greatest pain into beautiful pieces, that's why I have decided to put my nights of anger, frustration, pain and tears into these new songs that are part of my new album "Don't tell my girlfriend" (Before my wife gets home edition), pre order now.

  12. So, I might sound stupid, and I know Gaga and Madonna are friends, but let me explain. Babylon has been compared to Vogue by Madonna since it was released, and I was bored and looked for the lyrics and man I'm crazy asf rn lol Born This Way and Express Yourself were the ultimate pop battle on 2011-12. The lyrics "That's gossip" could mean how media and Madonna fans were talking bad about Gaga and saying she's a wannabe or a copy of Madonna. "Rip that song" could mean how Gaga sampled (?) / is similar to Vogue, representing how BTW was a rip-off of EY according to the internet. "Battle for your life" could mean how Gaga had to battle to have a good reputation after all the events of the ARTPOP era made her have a kind of bad reputation. I KNOW I SOUND STUPID BUT LIKE HELLO

  15. She didn’t sample, but she knew the comparisons were going to start again because she finally released an Old-Way influenced voguing House track (which was farrrr overdue imo) so it all kind of fits. Considering Madge didn’t invent vogueing or House music, but a lot of people feel so, she knew what was coming. It’s all just gossip though

  17. I’m sorry, but there’s no need to **** on Billie’s album to justify the praise Charli’s getting. Both are great pop records. Period.

  22. Even the sequencing of this album is amazing. I feel the first two songs are so easy to listen to and draw you in and then the rest of the album just holds you. I can’t stop playing this record and I keep hearing and appreciating new layers in the songs. It’s just so good.

  27. Chromatica is my favorite Gaga album. It was such an escape for me during the pandemic. The visuals really brought the era to life, even if we didn’t get that many or even the whole picture. Enigma is my favorite Gaga song, and probably will be for a while. Simply so epic and anthemic.

  28. • Alice is one of my all time Gaga favorites. • Lately I've been thinking about Replay's second verse a lot, really helps putting words on my feelings. • Rain On Me is Gaga's greatest instrumental ever in my opinion! • Fun Tonight is severely overlooked, it is one of the standouts for me. • Stupid Love's MV and the overall aesthetic of the album are incredible. • The CBT is Gaga's most artistically rich tour. (too bad the staging is so poor)

  29. The title itself is so cool, grandiose, genius, other worldly. Like, when you say Chromatica... like wow, her mind. Who would have thought of such title for a music album. Why does this thread make me feel like something is near..Like this is now a real goodbye to the Chromatica era

  30. The fact that the last two announcements (fortnite and the chromatica ball movie) were made when I wasn't expecting any announcements at all. I think we have to pretend we're not expecting anything, guys!

  33. I know i’ve said it before, but it’s just so interesting that, out of all the stupid fake leaks that are all over twt right now, only one is being targeted, and it’s the same one, over and over, and it just so happens to be the one that nobody can truly tell if it’s real or fake. Who knows. all in good time I guess!

  35. I've seen a lot of confusion about the recent Metacritic scores for Charli's Brat and Taylor's The Tortured Poet's Department, so I wanted to share some thoughts to clear things up. First off, it's important to understand that the music industry in 2024 is in a unique place. The market now demands authenticity and bravery from artists. It's not just about catchy beats or deep lyrics anymore; it's about making bold moves that push boundaries and challenge the status quo. Brat is a perfect example of this. Yes, the beats might not be groundbreaking, and the lyrics might seem shallow to some, but what sets this album apart is its rebellious spirit. Charli has done something subversive with this release, and that's what's being celebrated. It's a disruptive move in the pop music landscape, and that's how we keep the genre fresh and exciting! Rebellion and cultural resets, whether they hit the mark or not, are crucial for artistic evolution within the zeitgeist. TPD has a score of 76 on Metacritic, which has also puzzled some fans, considering the commercial success the record has had. The issue here is that Taylor, despite her immense talent, played it too safe. While she does include some confessional lyrics, much of the album consists of embellished facts presented as poetry, which has turned a lot of us off. It lacks the raw, daring edge that the current music market craves. So, it's not just about the quality of the songs themselves. It's about the impact and the statement the artist is making. Charli's album is being recognised, quite rightly in my opinion, for its sheer audacity and the shake-up it's causing in the pop scene, and that's why it has such a high score. Hope this helps to clarify things!

  37. Listen, I am the king of tearing things apart. I can find critiques for almost anything as y’all may know this is one of those albums that you either get it, or you don’t. and it’s fine if you don’t, but it’s objectively an outstandingly soaring display of pop culture at its peak. you simply can’t take it for face value, because it has so much more to offer than what most people will ever grasp. it’s a truly incredible body of work and it absolutely deserves to be recognized as one of the best pop records of all time. charli is so immensely talented and this very well could be her magnum opus (if she doesn’t outdo this album in the future)
