  1. Nicknamed Johnny Rotten, the Sex Pistols and PIL vocalist John Lydon is certainly one of the most influential frontmen of all time. With the Punk group he caused a real revolution not only in England but in the entire world with the sound, lyrics and attitude the band had, although they only released one album before breaking up. Lydon is really sincere and authentic, so he always gives his real opinion on anything. So when he says that he loves Lady Gaga, you can believe it, because he also says that he can’t stand The Beatles, for example. In an interview with Absolute Radio back in 2011 (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage), Lydon was asked who was doing “good experimental stuff” at that moment in music. He then talked about Gaga saying: “Lady Gaga is fantastic, I love it. The humor in it, (an) absurd imagery, yes of course it uses sex, but in a really witty, clever way. The songwriting is bang up there, bang up there. (The songs) they really are, they are well-crafted, they’re smart and they leave plenty of room for wisdom. I mean, ”Paparazzi’ is genius for a song,” John Lydon said. He then agreed with the interviewer that it was one of the songs he wished he could have written. “(She does better than Madonna) by a good mile and a half. Madonna is kind of humorless and takes herself too seriously. I mean, didn’t drive you nuts when she came over and pretended to be British? America didn’t take that too kindly, you know,” John Lydon said. Lydon didn’t praise Lady Gaga only once, he also told in an interview with Daily Star in 2011, that he thought she was fun and that she had an innocence he never saw in Madonna, for example. “Gaga is so much fun. Those lyrics are wonderful. They’re clever and deep. She’s putting female artists on the map, times 10. She’s not the best-looking bird in the world, but then again she is, because her personality has taken over. It’s not a visual thing with Gaga funnily enough, considering all her garb. It’s more a personality thing.” “She has a wonderful innocence which I never saw in Madonna, who was harder and more ambitious. That song Paparazzi is very clever. Is she talking about her papa? The press? Who? She’s so young too. It will be very exciting to see what she comes up with next,” John Lydon said. Although Gaga is a pop star, she really loves Rock and Roll music and many times declared her love for the genre. She has a really broad musical influence and that can be shown for example, on the two albums she recorded with the late Jazz singer Tony Bennett. https://rockandrollgarage.com/john-lydon-opinion-on-lady-Gaga-and-madonna/

  3. So she was asked several times and she turned them down and now she's surprised that they aren't asking her again?

  6. Peaking on your third album with 10 songs is insane. She didn’t need 30 songs, a double album, random versions of albums at 3 in the morning, no lead single releases, no random collabs, only her and her brother making non-traditional alt/Pop that normally wouldn’t chart. After getting hate in her last era/album, people saying she wouldn’t last and she proved you MOTHEREFFEES wrong Officially the QUEEN of Gen Z. I am so proud of her

  7. sorry but something about these effects really brings out some nostalgic feelings about Gaga it reminds me of her Fame era days where she had a very strong hand in everything, staying true to her "rough around the edges" craft rather than total sleek perfectionism (beyonce being a good example of that) knowing she's actually sat there and had a firm hand in this project is really great, especially since people dragged her for having nothing to do with DOC

  9. Taylor can sell all the variants in the world,, and her cult mem- ..fans can buy dozens of copies of the same album over and over again. But it will never change the fact that Billie just released a record better than anything Taylor Allison Swift has ever put out in her entire career

  11. Well her thing is for a non elimination season she would be interested as stated in the article, the only other non elim season was All Winners. And I feel her, if they have her lip synch it’s over for her I fear. Her artistry would have been AMAZING on this season though.

  12. Activism should be authentic. She cant save the world by herself. I think its fine if she chose what feels natural to her and doesnt go into topics she has no connection to. That doesnt mean she doesnt care about those.

  14. Also I think it’s worth noting that Billie is hitting these numbers with some WEIIIIIIIRD music like Taylor has a very approachable sound & Beyoncé’s release was more pop/country which is generally popular rn (in the US at least) So her hitting those numbers while doing whatever she wants musically is super awesome

  19. She's allowed to be passionate about a few specific issues and less or not at all about others and you guys needs to deal with it, she did enough and risked enough of her career for many important issues. But when we point out other celebrities who does absolutely nothing (and somehow gets awards and recognitions lol) ya'll find every excuse in the book to justified it. Give Gaga a f-cking break already. If you care enough about these issue.. do your own activism, you don't need a celebrity to do it for you.

  20. I like a lot of Taylor’s albums but I am astonished at her numbers. Genuinely how does she get that?! Is it artificially inflated?

  21. I wouldn’t judge something like this from a 9:16 30 seconds teaser… There were tons of cameras including those sliding ones across the runways and some side shots were actually displayed during the live concert. There were also cameras on the roof of the stage and on the second level of the stage facing the croud. There were drones, cameramen walking across the stage and also closeups to the live instuments, which I all find very cool. I don’t know, let’s reserve this type of comments for when the concert film is fully available

  23. Gaga OPEN 2024 / GAGADAILY GRAND SLAM Hello, everyone! Since we're on the edge of our seats waiting for Gaga to finally drop the highly anticipated LG7 and star in the most ambitious blockbuster movie of this year (Joker: FAD), I wanted to do something special to make this wait less exhausting! So I'm excited to ask all of you to participate in my biggest megarate yet and choose the ultimate Lady Gaga song! This megarate is designed like most sport tournaments: each round you will be asked to choose one song in a battle that will advance to the next round, until we have a final showdown between the two most voted songs of the megarate! There are 128 songs competing for the title (I've only included the official songs that have appeared on Gaga's studio albums (or other artists' studio albums), so songs like a cover of Elton John's "Your Song" aren't eligible for this game). If a tie occurs - the first round, the host will vote to determine the winner of the battle - the second round and onward, the song with the most votes from the previous round(s) and the current one combined wins, if it’s still a tie the host votes to determine the winner. I hope you all will have fun with this megarate! Please follow these simple rules: 1) Post in this thread and confirm that you've voted once you've completed the form, 2) Don't troll, just simply vote for your favorite tracks 3) Tag the users you think would be interested to participate 4) Make sure to attend the results announcement ceremonies THE DRAW:

  30. Apparently Taylor Swift had requested it personally to her friend, Hayley. Previously, Hayley said she would retire the song from Paramore setlist in 2018, largely due to listener backlash. Some critics found "Misery Business" sexist, particularly for one lyric that refers to another woman as a "*****." Williams reiterated her position on "Misery Business" as recently as 2020, when she called out Spotify for adding "Misery Business" to a playlist of women rock stars. "I know it's one of the band's biggest songs but it shouldn't be used to promote anything having to do with female empowerment or solidarity," she wrote on Instagram in 2020. But after years of fans defending the song and Williams reiterating her commitment to feminism, the band felt comfortable playing it live again. "Four years ago, we said we were gonna retire this song for a little while, and I guess technically we did," Williams told her audience at Sunday's gig, according to Rolling Stone. "But what we did not know was that, just about five minutes after I got canceled for saying the word '*****' in a song, all of TikTok decided that it was OK." The band was singing the song the last time at Coachella with Billie Eilish.
