Gotta say I unfollowed her Insta a few months ago as it's just a platform for her to promote Haus Labs and pills like cheap influencers... not into that.21 points

Let’s be real. It’s fair to say Gaga isn’t the it girl and hasn’t been since Born This Way era. Her last big hit was probably shallow and don’t come for me with rain on me. Yes it peaked at number 1 but it’s nowhere to be heard from these days. Gaga doesn’t seem to care much about re-peaking and is only focused on doing whatever it is that makes her happy which seems like it’s acting and make up. I don’t think Gaga cares to smash the charts anymore. I think she proved herself and showed us what a mastermind she is. As long as Gaga is happy so am I and couldn’t care less how her next musical project is received because I’ll gladly listen to it either way.16 points

Yeah . When she first started doing it at the beginning of the year ppl thought she had the album done and finished and now she’s teasing we learned our lesson13 points

i don't understand this fanbase you guys were so ANGRY she never posted anymore to the point where she had to talk about it and now that she's posted a random selfie, you guys are complaining because there's no hype attached to it... this is exactly what y'all asked for11 points
-
I don't care one bit. I'm just happy seeing her happy while creating music. That's all that matters. Let her share that if she wants.11 points
-
It obviously feels like teasing but I don’t think that’s what her intention is, she’s just sharing because she’s excited. I would rather content from her than none at all. She seems to be in a really healthy mindset these days where she is just doing what makes her happy and I love that.11 points

Yeah and it seems like Drake is going home with a hamburger costume on and a tail between his legs11 points

I may get torn to shreds, but I just think there are far more interesting artists than Dua Lipa in the music world. Even that new Camila Cabello collab has more character than some of RO. That said please don't get all cocky and spiteful. Just let her be. No need to bully her and fans due to underperformed.10 points

I honestly really like the album, while not really anticipating it all that much. I went out and bought the lenticular sleeve CD too cause I think the packaging is really great. Actually, her album packaging for the CD reminds me a lot of the late 90s/early 00s and I think that's intentional. The critique that "these are Future Nostalgia leftovers" and that "it all sounds the same" is lazy. Disco as a genre has range, has existed for decades and evolved, and I think Future Nostalgia and Radical Optimism pull from different eras of the genre. I mean, I'd hate to see if Twitter and social media existed when Kylie went from Light Years to Fever (two disco-inspired albums that pull from very different inspirations within the genre). I actually really love the light, summery aesthetic (visually and sonically) of Radical Optimism. It's a lot more "airy" than Future Nostalgia which was quite commanding. I understand why it may be a let down for people who loved her work on FN, because just sonically it isn't as bold, but I also don't think RO is some step back or downgrade. I think she's just in her third album "we're gonna beat on her" era (cause I'm sorry, the hate train is kind of bizarre), I think she's not promoting it as strenuously as her last album, and I think having her dad as a manger doesn't do her favors. I think this is one of those album that in five years everyone will look at and say "why did we let this flop" and "why did people hate on this" and whatever revisionary retrospective people like to cyclically do...9 points

I’ve just learned to never get excited with Gaga and instead have 0 expectations, read into nothing, and just wait because 99.2% of the time nothing is coming except a new lip lacquer lmao7 points

I honestly hope Gaga is going. New music or not, that would be a good way to have a big public appearance before Joker campaign6 points

Why do yall always make it about this? No one asked for a rundown of how Gaga is no longer the it girl and quite Frankley no one is really the IT girl anymore, everyone is thriving In their own different lanes. Also on rain on me, how many hits songs of that year do you still hear around? Who's still listening to wap or savage or say so?6 points

this is honestly the worst "pre-era" in my opinion. Pre ARTPOP was magical. Pre LG5/LG6 were also iconic in their own ways - from the fake leaks to the fun teasing and all. Like someone pointed out, a lot of teasing in the last few months was done for damage control. It all really just feels uninspired and meh.6 points

Honestly kept scrolling past it cause I thought it was an older post. It just wasn’t exciting and had a generic caption. Don’t think there’s any big “reason” why this one didn’t do numbers. edit: coming back to this to say it’s kind of exciting. I feel like we get her best projects when she’s super secretive and “boring”. The time before Chromatica was just like this and while granted not much came of the era, it was purely circumstantial. She had such huge plans for that. Just hoping we get the chance to experience this next era in all its glory6 points

i think what really stinks is that today's promo cycle is just non-existant, these albums just get released and that's it no event, no live performances, maybe a music video or 3, we're lucky to get a lead single these days... after a week nobody cares anymore because the label just focuses on selling tour tickets6 points

these numbers won't make me enjoy the album any less, but i think it's obvious atp that Dua has little to no following, no core fanbase. and you can't pull bigger numbers without a loyal fanbase!6 points

Her last Insta post only manage to get 290K likes in 2 days since it was posted. She used to get more in one hour with her entries on this app. Why do you think that is? Does this game of cat and mouse she is doing not working anymore? Or is there other reasons? As a fan yourself, why do you think this happened?5 points

Wrong. Rain On Me was a hit, along with Shallow and Always Remember Gaga this Way. Bloody Mary also scored some moderate success too. Credit where credit is due.5 points

I think that's an extended opinion. Dua became huge simply because FN songs were amazing. I think any other singer could have succeed with those songs. Now that we don't see the same quality on her songs she just becomes an average singer4 points

https://www.instagram.com/p/C6g31xhuTwk/ https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/sabrina-carpenter-espresso-number-1-song-uk/ "She may be working late (because she’s a singer), but we hope Sabrina Carpenter will at least take the night off to celebrate her first UK Number 1 single, Espresso. The frothy, funk-infused banger completes its climb to the top of the Official Singles Chart today – despite a last-minute photo-finish run to the line with ex-tourmate Taylor Swift, with fewer than 500 chart units separating Espresso from fortnight ft. Post Malone (2). The UK’s most-streamed track of the week, Espresso racked up 8.8 million streams, according to Official Charts Company data. Now one of the first major contenders to soundtrack this summer, Espresso only debuted on the Official Chart two weeks ago, becoming Sabrina’s first Top 10 single in the process. She’d previously logged three Top 40 entries; Nonsense (32), Skin (28) and feather (19). Fun chart fact - Espresso is the first caffeine-based UK Number 1 single in 24 years, since All Saints’ Black Coffee topped the charts in 2000. " Taylor gets another top 10 hit: "Taylor Swift scores a 29th UK Top 10 single, with I Can Do It With A Broken Heart (8), becoming the fourth single from The Tortured Poets Department to reach the Top 10 in two weeks; following former Number 1 fortnight, The Tortured Poets Department (3) and Down Bad (4). " And Chappell Roan gets her first top 20 single: "Chappell Roan’s wistful Good Luck, Babe! becomes her first Top 20 single in the UK, up three (18), while David Guetta & OneRepublic’s I Don’t Wanna Wait also enters the Top 20 for the first time, up seven (20)."4 points

for popstars its always important to catch the nerve of time. right now, there is a whole generation of kids you have to reintruduce Gaga to again, they were too young when she had her big eras. social media was always gagas strenght. back then she was the queen of twitter and myspace with miles ahead of all other popstars. they are aware how social media works and if she wants to reach new audiences, tik tok is an important tool. pushing a release date for a few weeks/months to be able to take usage of that important tool? yes they would.4 points

So? The font, pose and everything is the same. They could have gone about it differently. Sure the pose was already shot in the 90s but they could have used something else.4 points
