I've been saying this, it absolutely is essential to her musical legacy, particularly for this decade 2020-2030. As someone who believes she should be in the same lane as today's modern day supremes (Bey and Tay), it is very frustrating to watch her take a back seat for so long and allow her voice to be so absent from musical pop culture. I fully agree it's a make or break - and I hate to admit sometimes I feel like she has already waited too long. If she comes back FULL SWING, she can do it. But right now I can't believe it's nearing the end of April and we still don't have any real info. We need a BTW level era to bring us back.25 points

After ARTPOP (messy era), Joanne (toned down era) and Chromatica (empty era) I feel like the next era will be very decisive for the future of Gaga's music career and her relationships with her music fans. Over the years I can't help but notice that fans are becoming less supportive of her choices and the next era could very much be the ending point for a lot of fans.24 points

DO NOT POST ANY LINKS OR REQUEST TO DM YOU. There's a rumor floating around that a gay fan made his way to DJWS' stolen laptop using Gr*ndr and there's stuff leaking soon. ARTPOP sessions, Act II unreleased and Born This Way stems. Most likely fake of course BUT there's an audio out there with Gaga talking about the recording of the title track and singing. You know where Two lookX!21 points

So Tony’s estate auction was today and I won this historic photo set of President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Gaga, Tony and his wife Susan that was personally signed by President Obama thanking Tony for his performance with Gaga at Obama’s inauguration ball in 2013! It also has the official White House disclaimer on the back with the time stamp and photography credit for famed White House photographer, Pete Souza. My two loves are Gaga and politics so this is the perfect fusion of both!20 points

Obviously ASIB was a cultural moment but was sort of lightning in a bottle and ROM was a nice sized hit, but realistically Gaga hasn't been at the forefront of pop music since the build up of the ARTPOP era. She has created a nice legacy and her career is in a good position in that she can do music, jazz, movies, concerts, makeup, and find success in it. But as a leading force in pop music, she has been an afterthought. And that's normal. Beyonce was too with those late 2010s projects and then came back with Renaissance. Madonna came back with ROL and then against with COADF. Whitney was probably in a similar situation as LG doing movies and other stuff but came back with MLIYL. I feel this era is important in bringing her back to relevance and the conversation of pop music as opposed to being just a legacy artist. Agree?18 points

Crazy how Taylor went from fighting against streaming services and apps like Tik Tok for them not paying artists and now she’s the only one who will go and make an exclusive deal with them in the middle of a dispute with the rest of the artists. Seems like a lack of empathy, yet at the same time im conflicted cause she owns her music and can do it16 points

Rolling Stone already gave it a perfect score of 100 and called it an instant classic The fact Gaga doesn't have a single album with a Metacritic score over 80 just shows how unserious the industry is. You can't convince me they aren't getting paid I'm so tired of those rolling drum beats in almost every song16 points

How are we still pining for a concert film for a 4yo album and this btch just dropped her second album since Chromatica and now documentary14 points

100%! When you think about what she's known for this decade, starting with 2020, only popheads really know and acknowledge the remainder of Chromatica - while the GP may (or may not) remember ROM. Before that her most well known hit was Shallow, before that? Applause I'm sure Joker OST will spawn another hit but I genuinely feel LG7 needs to be BIG. No more playing it safe, she needs more successful tracks to eventually replace The Fame singles on tour lol. Do something revolutionary, completely unsafe, edgy, artistic, push the boundaries. Incorporate technology, fashion, music and art in a new and exciting way. Tbh even if LG7 is another safe album ala Chromatica (I will definitely become more of a casual listener then), she will be fine as she's expanded her fanbase with JazzGa and VegasGa, but it's just sad to see her deviate so much from the risk-taking artist she sold us years ago. A safe album coupled with the weird capitalistic brand partnerships, PharmGa, Richy etc would definitely make me unstan. It's sad to say but I've found her unrelatable the last several years.14 points

Wild to see how many of you here are saying she'll essentially be done if this album isn't a major hit. She's solidified and she's for sure still got more hits in her. Age is viewed differently these days and her public image is the best its ever been. If Beyonce can still get #1's in her 40's and still have interest in her years between albums these days (6 years between Lemonade and Renaissance) and Rihanna still has fans hoping she'll release music even though she's devoted herself to makeup for 8+ years now, I think Gaga can still have success after 4 years or so since her last album. And she can totally act and still make music, many artists have done it. I'm surprised so many of you are underestimating her. Why do you choose to be on this forum if you don't have the confidence in her abilities? I find it pretty sad how Gaga once had one of the most supportive fanbases and now we can't even be super hyped for her next album. And we wonder why other artists are smashing and we aren't quite hitting the same level?12 points

This! She's obsessed with charts and money. When she pulled her music from streaming websites many years ago, streams didn't count in charts and were bringing way less money than actual album sales. She never cared about the "smaller" artists, it was all a performance for her own interests.10 points

I have no idea how she makes so much music and I love all of it. I know she’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but god she really is dedicated to making her art.10 points

I can only speak for myself but it basically comes down to this: LG7 isn't make or break it for her, but it is for some fans. OG fan here and my support/interest for her has been waning the last few years: Richy, Nurtec, Haus Labs, the 2023 silence, ARTPOP 10TH cash grab, BTW 10TH "ANNIVERSARY", etc. I just want her to sell and be passionate about her album and music the way she is about makeup, jazz, Nurtec, acting, and kindness No matter what happens, I will still say she has one of the best voices of my generation, is one of the best performers and icons of my generation. But there are so many artists lately that have been putting out more daring and interesting projects and visuals, Allie X to start. And I just miss that commitment to a project from Gaga, giving the fans an experience. TCB was definitely a step in the right direction, but unfortunately her tour visuals and concepts have been more appealing than the actual era and videos imo.10 points

Well….its another Taylor swift album. Nothing different from the last ones honestly. It’s amazing she can be so consistently mid yet also so consistently on brand 100% of the time.9 points

No matter what she does, I’ll always support her and believe she is one of the most versatile, unpredictable artists the world will ever see. Had you told me she’d be starring as Harley Quinn in Joker 2 back in 2016 I’d laugh in your face. Equally, I’d laugh in your face in 2009 if you told me she’d put out something like Born This Way. Her ability to transform transcends anyone, and it’s what keeps her interesting to me, more so than the music itself. That said, her decisions lately (with Richy, Nurtec, Haus Labs, etc.) has made me lose a lot of interest and sometimes even respect for her, and for me LG7 will absolutely be the turning point for me. I’ll lose faith a bit if it doesn’t deliver, and I say that as a fan since the very beginning in 2009. But even if it flops, nobody will ever excite me the way she does. That woman could make an album of white noise and I’ll still live for it.9 points

I just think it's funny how some fans view her as someone who wants to be a Bey/Taylor in terms of pop music when I think she's made it very clear over several years now, that her career intentions are different. She has shaped an incredible lane for herself that no one else can claim. Too many fans view her acting or jazz as side projects when in reality these are pillars of her post-ARTPOP career. She's a different artist now. She's not going to suddenly jump back into being the "it girl" of the radio, hot 100, having hit and after hit after hit for 2 years or something. She's going to film another movie, she's going to continue singing Jazz, she'll have another Haus Labs campaign, and yes she'll have another album. But the expectation needs to be adjusted. Her being a multifaceted icon is actually what makes her more unique and interesting than Bey or Taylor. This distinction should be viewed as a strength instead of a weakness that's somehow holding her back from chart dominance. She's doing what she wants, and it might not be what you want and that's okay.8 points
