Not trying to put your hopes up but this is the last haus labs xmas thing I remember: WEEKS after this we got stupid love. Will history repeat itself? Is she wearing blue for ARTPOP act II? Will she release the Joanne world tour dvd? Only time will tell.22 points

Instead of getting a new documentary next week you're getting none!14 points

Ok but luxx is getting annoying giving a voice to the anti-negativity brigade portion of the fanbase. Here's the real tea: the issue is not that projects like this get delayed, cancelled,... per se. It's that there is a complete lack of communication, and it's making the fans feel like worthless consumers vs. committed "shareholders" if you will (and, yes, that term is a legit choice, as many LMs have invested and continue to invest an incredible amount of money into Gaga's act). I get that it's Gaga's personal choice and prerogative to not jump on Instagram or X or wherever to be like "hey guys, I'm so happy you're excited about the documentary! I promise you it's coming and I will let you know when soon! Love you, bye x" but it would immediately avoid the majority of the tidal waves of disappointment and aggregating bitterness that's been consuming the fan community. Gaga isn't the only one at risk of alienating her fans this way. We've been seeing it happen to plenty of pop stars recently, incl the "untouchable" Taylor in just the last few months. I guess this post can also just be explained away as being "negative" but, honestly, it's just poor business, and it's not unreasonable to point that out. If fans are treated as mere customers, then it is not unpredictable that they will start to behave as displeased customers.12 points

This is another reason why I'm putting space between myself and ggd for a bit 'cause like...I swear half of you aren't even fans "Sadly it's bound to happen" says the Gaga "fan" in regards to the thing that makes Gaga happiest. And how dare you at that comment about Tony's music It's been nice to just listen to her music and appreciate who she is as an artist and a person without all the bitching and moaning from stans online who either want a parasitic social relationship with her or generic pop bops they can shake their asses to. Too much energy towards this comment specifically, sorry for that, but I've been getting more and more fed up with Gaga fans for a long time 'cause imagine stanning one of the most versatile and talented artists in generations who is also a genuine human with a heart of gold and still finding reasons to go complain online daily /Rant OT: Give it to us10 points

Joanne was recorded to show a more toned down sound & image of her after the ARTPOP drama, although it was not safe for her die hard fans, it was a very safe move for her career10 points

Now that i think about it what if all this is a major psychologic planning/ promo from Booby turning us all into harleys and jokers. Booby has the mastermind of the mastermind9 points

Joanne wasn't safe at all, musically. But up to 2014 her career was an uphill battle, and her music reflected that. Since then she has spent her time recovering herself and her private life. That rebellious side of her isn't as necessary anymore for her to survive as an artist.9 points

i don’t get posts like this. of course people who have spent so much energy and money on their love of someone over the years are gonna be disappointed when project after project gets delayed and/or scrapped. it’s like being told by your best friend that you’re about to get a birthday present and then when the day comes around, your best friend ghosts you. sure gaga herself hadn’t tweeted about this, but it was on the official schedule for networks, so naturally fans got excited. people always complain that “some fake fans” only care about pop music and not the things that actually make gaga happy, and here people were getting hyped for something jazz related. and it would be different if this was just a one time thing, but 6 months ago, after not hearing from gaga for almost a year, she teased a secret new music project (produced and written by her) and the chromatica ball film. fans had already given up on the latter by then, but then she went and promised it was coming, only to never be heard from again this year (outside of scripted makeup ads). i will support gaga until the day i die and always want the best for her, but of course people are gonna be frustrated when they constantly get led on by someone they’ve dedicated so much of their life to. maybe i’m wrong, but it seems totally fair to me. edit: maybe it is just being moved bc of the eras movie, but given how things have gone lately, i think it’s totally reasonable for fans to just be confused/frustrated. okay signing off for the day. love you all <38 points

Uh...was this ever even confirmed for sure? Bobby is her manager y'all. He doesn't handle release dates for documentaries, etc, once they've been sold. It's Paramount + (and their parent company) who is determining that release date as they now "own" the documentary. This isn't like a musical album, where the artist has a say, etc. Like if it was the type of documentary that might premiere at TIFF, I could see the "companies" (not Gaga or the late Tony's team) holding it to premiere it at a festival (as many festivals have docs) or closer to Christmas. I know y'all hate the Haus, but this has more to do with the streaming services and the parent company. Tony's team and Gaga can't "pull it" once the rights have been sold. My guess is it's either being pushed back closer to Christmas, or the non US air dates are being changed, or they've decided to air it on the anniversary of Tony's death, or Paramount +/their parent company decided to debut it at Sundance or Berlin (both have documentary sections, and Sundance hasn't announced their entire slate yet). I think holding it for Christmas (or closer to Christmas) likely makes the most sense tbh, or the anniversary of Tony's death (again, even if it was confirmed). Screenrant is notoriously unreliable.8 points

It's still on my tv xchedulr for Tues the 12th. it had been on the schedule for virginmedia channel 650, which is just MTV I think. It's gone from there now and has been replaced by Catfish, Liam Gallagher etc. However, Gaga and Tony is still scheduled for channel 656 (MTV Music) at 7pm on Tues the 12th. I cling to my liferaft.8 points

I think Gaga has many cards to play, and she plays them strategically. Joanne was always in her hand, and she laid it down after ARTPOP to flip the script- but I wouldn’t call it safe per se. Monsters easily could have been repelled from it, and some were. Perfect Illusion isn’t exactly a middle America song, and Gaga had to do a lot of leg work to get Million Reasons to the top 5. Joanne is a mostly palatable album, but her fan-base isn’t usually interested in palatable. Her niche wasn’t used to a uniform of a white crop top, daisy dukes and black boots. A Star Is Born was also a risky move. A debut performance from a superstar could only go two ways, same from an actors turn as a first time director. Couple that with a script that was done 3 times prior, with legendary performances from legendary actors. Along the way she threw down more cards to re-stabilize- AHS, Chromatica, House of Gucci, Love For Sale. Gaga has a vision for long term success, and to be a part of the pop culture zeitgeist well into her “old lady rockstar” days.8 points

Yes, the parent company (or paramount) could cancel it. Gaga and Tony's teams can not as it's sold (as I said, this isn't the same as a doc that hasn't been sold to a distributor or albums). It's doubtful they would cancel it, though, if they already purchased it. More likely it's been pushed.7 points

Also paramount + has remived the liked tweets regarding it. The tv channels that were showing it in queue no longer show it. We just cant win. #FireTheHausNow7 points

making money shouldn't grant you the title person of the year, it's pretty simple. Person of the year was a title given to people who actually had impact to the world, to the good or the bad, her only impact is to her own bank account.7 points

It's kind of wild that some of y'all are saying Joanne was "safe" considering it was drastically different than anything else she put out before. She became famous for electronic dance pop music, and while Joanne was still a pop record, it was drastically different than anything else she had done before. ARTPOP might not have been on the same level as TF/TFM and BTW, but it still fits within a similar genre as those 3 albums. Joanne was a radical departure. I'd say Chromatica was very safe in terms of its sound. I think she could've pushed the envelope more, sonically speaking. There were disco and house influences in there, but I wish those were even more present throughout the album. As for her jazz stuff, I wouldn't necessarily call that "safe" either. Jazz is not a mainstream genre anymore. And while creating albums with Tony was certainly a personal gratification of hers, if she wanted to "play it safe", she would've just recorded more electronic dance stuff. Finally, in regards to her acting career, I also don't think it's necessarily "safe" either. ASIB was kind of a big risk in the sense that it was the 3rd remake and was positioning itself as an awards contender. It was also Gaga's first major acting role. And to be fair, I don't think anyone expected Shallow to be as big as it was. House of Gucci was probably more "safe" in comparison. Joker 2, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of safe. The movie is fighting an uphill battle, and while I think it'll ultimately be great, that doesn't mean it's not risky. It's incredibly high risk/high reward.7 points

Prior to her Elton John had the highest grossing tour of all time. He was a phenomonen. He broke barriers, not just as an LGBT artist, but as an artist in general. Still never got Person of the Year. Only a deluded fan could tweet an thesis justifying this7 points

An album like Joanne was going to happen anyways. It was inevitable. And lyrically I wouldn't call Chromatica safe at all. I'm sure sonically she'll get adventurous again. I have high hopes for LG7 since that post from June.7 points

I’m gonna say it. I’ve had enough. Gaga is getting really anoying lately. Chromatica Ball Movie ? Nowhere to be seen after she promised it would be released. This documentary ? Looks like it’s not happening either. I don’t know what the hell she is doing lately, but the fact that these projects got cancelled / delayed without any explanation is really disrespectful imo. Oh but she’s got no problem to drop new Haus Labs products. She needs to stop treating us like money bags.6 points

Why are some here blaming Gaga for this? This is a team Tony project. Even if she didn't like how she came off, they could just delete most of her scenes in it and still release it. I hate how her fans start making up fanfiction, it's like you guys lowkey don't like her, or the love for her is so close to hate that the intensity veers into creepy territory.5 points

I doubt it's axed, just pushed again which is annoying but I'm sure they have their reasons. Maybe they want it closer to the Grammys. I've been wondering if Gaga will tribute him.5 points

Bobby has no control over this....it's the streaming service/parent company. The Haus can be blamed for TCB, as no one knows if it was even sold to a distributor, but The Lady and the Legend had allegedly been sold. "IF" the Paramount + thing was ever confirmed (Screenrant is often wrong), Gaga and Tony's "teams" sold the rights to the film. Once they've sold the rights, they can't suddenly go "oopsie, I no longer want you to release that film" as they don't own it anymore. This isn't like her music album, where she partially has rights, etc. They also "sold" the rights for those particular performances in that particular film (they can't use song ownership to get the film yanked).4 points

I think she literally just got over it. Got tired of trying and not being appreciated. Tired of always putting her whole gagussy into it at the detriment of her own mental and physical health. Tired of the constant press and the world hating her and calling her evil, a hermaphrodite, ugly. Tired of not being able to go outside. Tired of being worried about her health. Also a phenomenon that I've been talking about a lot lately is the shift that happens in your 30's, where you lose that blissfully ignorant confidence and feeling of immortality you have in your 20's She just changed her perspective. I miss the Gaga who would wear the most outlandish, eclectic fashion. The girl who always had the world wondering what she was going to look like or do next. Parading out of her hotels every night in an elaborate look while on a massive world tour. The Gaga who would joke around and not take herself seriously. Come online and talk to us. The one who was an art hoe through and through. Who put so much passion into every single music video. The experimental music and constant surprises and.. edge? But that's not coming back. So we just have to accept who she is now and love her for exactly that and take whatever we get. I always remind myself that this reality is better than her actually quitting music altogether and disappearing like she almost has a few times. Also, something else you learn as you grow up is that things change, people change, nothing will stay the same, and you can't expect things to continue on as they are for very long. That's a very hard life lesson to learn, but after some time it sinks in and you start to get it. We can look back with bittersweet nostalgia (and even have a cry on ARTPOPs 10th anniversary), but we can't live that same time again and that's okay, it's life4 points
