Ladle Ghoulash 16,039
But, lazy journalism and sensationalizing does make it the medias fault, as both of those things fall under the category of media. Not to mention targeting a prominent figure is the medias fault because they don't *have* to do that, they're just vying for the public's attention. The way that the media treats celebrities is despicable. They are abstracted into concepts and actions and dehumanized for the sake of a media outlet making money by attracting a large audience with these tactics. It's a selfish ploy that the people discussed in the aforementioned media have to eat **** for, even though the way the media outlet presented it could've been absolutely bogus (see: Angela Cheng). This issue isn't exclusive to Gaga, but really to anyone who doesn't totally play by the rules of how to be a "perfect celebrity" (and, in reality, no one is really exempt; some just receive less blows than others). giskardsb 12,565
The fact is Gaga changes things up. She's not a robot that will milk something that is successful until it isnt nymore like the standard pop stars do. Swine at Sxsw was proof that she doesn't follow the good girl script of what is "best" behavior for a pop star. Gaga is going to change again, do something different. She won't always connect with the public or with all her fans. I personally love the unpredictability of the Gaga coaster. Sitting around complaining about all the ways Gaga has moved away from your or the publics comfort zone is counterproductive especially for those of you who won't just accept that she's changed and move on until some day when maybe she makes something you like again. Gagas goals for her career are different than what some fans want from her, such is life.
13VictorC 1,096
Gaga had no escaping it. Staying the same meant a typical pop star's downfall in popularity. Changing meant different music than her first impression.
