Kenon Astro 0
You kind of just made this entire thread moot Well no, if that was the case, it would only strengthen my point on how serious of an issue this is.
Shadow 6,632
Most pictures don't come out good anyway. Yeah, this culture... First, people were glued to the tube, then their flat screens, then their tablets, and now their phones, or whatever order... It's like people are slaves to their own devices. It kind of reminds me of Darth Vader, relying on his mask's goggles to see the world. Remember what he said to Luke in Return of the Jedi when he was taking off his mask while he was dying at the end... "Just for once... Let me... Look on you with my own eyes..." When Gaga is three feet from you, don't you want to see her in the flesh? Why is it more important for people to impress their friends online with low quality pics and video than get the full experience of seeing her live? Use your own eyes, or it's like living life behind a screen. Do your own research.
One Five Ten 70
Well no, if that was the case, it would only strengthen my point on how serious of an issue this is. Serious of an issue? People are starving. :sweep:
Nemo 4,293
Where it really struck me was during the Roseland livestream -- in the brief period before G.U.Y., they showed a fan holding his phone up to the (Verizon) camera, playing back part of the concert he'd just recorded (that wasn't even over yet). Like, really? But I will continue to feel grateful to people who take HQ recordings and post them online, to the extent that I was able to see (I think) every date of the Born This Way Ball, despite no professional recordings having been released, and the impossibility of seeing it in person since the whole eastern U.S. leg was cancelled. And I also feel that, as long as they don't interfere with anyone else's enjoyment, it's their own business if that's how they want to experience the show. geopang 4,831
I agree completely with this thread. It's a shame really that so many people find it more important to prove that they were there instead of just enjoying the moment with the performer. I admit that at Roseland I did take a few pictures. But most of the time my phone was away and I just enjoyed watching Gaga for the time she was on stage. One Five Ten 70
cat is to feline, as baby is to motorboat a great comparison I'm just saying. If the biggest of your worries is that there are some phones taking videos in front of you at a $100+ costing concert, then congratulations.
LaLuna 12,732
Bless this thread I completely agree that all those people shoving their phones in Gaga's face during her piano set at Roseland were incredibly rude. Sometimes I really miss the days when smartphones didn't exist. Not just because people are too busy recording live concerts instead of enjoying the show but because they spend too much time on them and I feel they don't really live in the present moment anymore. Not only that, but I've noticed that people value getting a text or a call on their phone more than they value spending quality time with people who are physically there with them. It's a pity, really.
Bebe 17,094
Yea but this show was professionally recorded. Why do people need their own lq videos as well? I dont get it. People like to record from their perspective I don't really get it either, but some people genuinely like to record the show and have the show from their unique perspective. It doesn't really matter why they want to record the show themselves, some people just like to experience the concert that way.
Bellatrix 34,811
Kinda agree, although I think it's ok to take some pics or record a few short clips but not an entire concert. Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?
Giorno Giovanna 3,178
I agree it's so unnecessary and dumb, it's not like it's a secret concert, so in the end it will end up on youtube in a better quality and video angle anyway. I'd do a few pics and maybe a video, during my least fav song, but enjoy the rest of the show without my stupid phone このジョルノジョヴァンナ夢がある
Slayer 9,227
I only took like 5 pictures when I was at the BTW Ball and that was it. And you know what, it was the best concert of my life because I was completely in the moment. I mouthed "I love you" to Gaga and she mouthed "I love you too", and i think if I'd been too preoccupied with my camera or phone at that point, I would never had had that amazing moment. I honestly couldn't give a fvck about impressing Facebook "friends" with pictures showing how close I was to Gaga. Those pictures and memories are all in my brain and they're just for me. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

Schwerk 7,246
I feel the same way. Fans always ask why I got on stage with her and all I can say to that is that Gaga saw me and my friends having a great time instead of looking at our phones. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
