PUT THE PHONES DOWN!

I've never been a fan of taking photos/video of shows, precisely because I feel like I don't enjoy what I'm there to see. There's no way I'm taking photos/video during Gaga's performance at artRAVE. I'm there to see her live, through my eyes, not through my phone's lens.

What the News Section has taught me today. Pick up your phones and request GUY, but put down your phones during a concert. Dat Gaga News tho :rip:

I wouldn't go to a concert and record it, I don't even generally take pictures but some people genuinely like to experience the concert like that.

I don't understand the obsession some people have with collecting audio remixes and rare posters and such but that is part of the experience for some people. Some people legitimately gain satisfaction and joy from being able to record and capture these moments.

If someone is going to enjoy the concert more by recording it and being able to replay it back whenever they wish then it is their prerogative.

Yea but this show was professionally recorded. Why do people need their own lq videos as well? I dont get it.

I agree with Gaga - to an extent. I agree that fans should live the moment as it's happening rather than focus solely on capturing that moment to live it later, especially if it is being professionally captured and broadcast. Roseland fits this scenario, so it seemed to me rather pointless that those people were so adamant on taking pictures and videos, since they had a guaranteed way to watch it in HQ later. However, if an event is not going to be recorded  professionally, such as a small club performance and perhaps even a tour stop, then it does make sense in my opinion for fans to want to capture the moment to relive it later. That being said, people do take it way too far, completely missing out on the energy of the moment to make sure they can watch it later. I can attest to this personally actually - when I went to the Monster Ball, I spent a good portion of my experience trying to record some performances and take pictures. Now, I had the time of my life, yes, but looking back, it would have been so, so much better had I not even brought my camera, which is precisely why I'm not even going to bother with it for the artRave.

Great testimony. Thank you for that.

I really agree.  I'm not against taking a few photos here and there.  I usually will take about one photo per outfit when I go to her show.  Then I put my phone back in my pocket and go back to enjoying the show.  I can't stand people who spend the ENTIRE show on their phone.  Then again, how else would we get great youtube videos of the show.  But I think people need to balance how much they use their phones during the show.

Gaga should make an indirect tribute to this ugly behavior in her next theatrical performance, with a giant artificial ring of camera phones pointed in her face while she sings. Kinda like in Britney Spears' Hold It Against Me... article-0-0D178263000005DC-600_634x354.j

I know. That's ALL I could focus on :toofunny: I think she was on a lot of d--gs or something tho, so i guess we can cut her some slack.

But legit, she never got a lyric right :awkney:

yeah, she looked slightly d--gged up. And that awkward moment when she grabbed Gaga's tit in front of her mom.
