Whispering 18,865
at you agreeing with me after calling it bull**** Everyone loves good music? What kind of delusion. A pop star does indeed attract teenagers, but really, do you ever think you'll see a teenager (non-fan) care about the ARTPOP concept? Stans overestimate this whole problem with the theme of an album. Most radio listeners are pretty clueless to what album a song is even coming from. They hear a song they like, they enjoy it, they buy it. The majority of them have NO IDEA if it comes from an upcoming or current album, EP, an independent single, or a collab not on an album. Seriously..they don't know and don't care! So, they certainly don't care about the "theme" or "concept" behind the album that the single came from. Luc 4,775
The Edge Of Glory wasn't that big outside of English-speaking countries. The lyrics are quite unrelatable too if you don't know the song is about her grandfather passing away. Lyrically, she needs to go back to TFM days. TeoG wasn't big outside English-speaking countries as much as it was in the US because the momentum for the era had more to do with Judas than the song. Judas either became a hit or a COMPLETE flop in all countries, so the countries where it became a hit it took the attention away from TeoG and the countries where it flopped, the momentum for the era had already died. Next to that, it got an extremely boring simple video with no outfit changes which was extremely unappealing, especially for a Gaga song. That was a major factor in Europe, where videos still made a HUGE impact.
Bye 3,947
At the time BTW was her biggest flop just like ARTPOP is now. One year ago on this very thread everyone was bashing BTWNot true on the last part, some of us always have defended BTW. Those calling it a flop were delusional tbh. Mariano 958
At the time BTW was her biggest flop just like ARTPOP is now. One year ago on this very thread everyone was bashing BTW Not true. People here have always acknowledged that BTW was a hit album.. There were not that many people here bashing it as an underperformance, more like the backlash from it.. But yeah you have a point because at the time MTN was her fisrt flop.. I also remember people saying the same thing that they say now "Go have a break Gaga and comeback in 2 years with something good" ..

XoXoJoanneGaga 629
Somebody probably said the exact same thing about MTN and we all know what happen next lol true, but MTN was the only flop of the BTW era, despite what some may say the era was a huge success and Gaga was still the biggest pop star in the world back then, so she clearly didn't feel much pressure with her next album. This time, the entire era has gone badly, it's been one long wake-up call. She's absolutely going to step it up for the next one if she wants to stick around

Since you ignored the question if you were banned from ATRL I'll take that as a yes. Anyhow this nonsense needs to stop. She won't go back in time, just like any other she's a human that matures, changes opions, evolves. Music has changed, the market has changed, it's not fair to try to pin her down to TFM (because it was great to be able to say Gaga slays your fave right?) era cause nothing is the same. Who knows, these days Pokerface might not even be a hit. If anything that we can say that she took a gamble and lost was putting 2012 edm sounds on an album. Anyway, she's happy with how ARTPOP turned out and that's fine. You can stan for Gaga as a person not just her chart run, try it one day.

I don't know how many times I listen to some non-single from a Gaga album and people ask me: "I've never heard this. It must not have been a hit." Then I tell them this is not a single and I receive blank looks. Then I have to tell them that obviously not every track from an album is gonna be released and heard by everyone. :smh:

(like Unconditionally) If it was going to flop, It would've died fast, otehrwise it would've become a small hit.. And the backlash was already huge for It.. so it didn't matter that much. And then they should've release TEOG immidiately (like Dark Horse, even tho It literally became single by its own ) and during Judas' dying, they could've think of a better video for TEOG... TEOG is literally the song that could've had the best video in Gaga's discography

She's absolutely going to step it up for the next one if she wants to stick around People said the same thing last era. And don't forget all the "I'm gonna be snatching weaves and naval rings next year!!!!" and "Carly Rae, I'm coming for your record!!!!!" statements Gaga made. She clearly thought ARTPOP was going to slay. Someone outside of her camp needs to intervene. Love her but she has clearly lost it. On-topic: woohoo G.U.Y. is still in the top 600 on iTunes! Slay Queen!
