I can't wait for Adele to come back and slay the charts. :gum:

I can't wait for Adele to schedule her album release in the same week as Taylor Swift so she can snatch that number one debut from america's sweetheart  :millie:

who is #1 this week?

John Legend on Hot 100 and Black Keys on the Billboard 200

Gaga's streaming power is bigger than Katy's power actually. It's just that Katy's hits are huge so they are obviously gonna have a lot of views. If Gaga gets a hit in the size of Katy's hits again it will have much more views.. Gaga's powerful format was always streaming while Katy's airplay. It's just that airplay will bring also streaming while streaming won't necessarily bring airplay. Rihanna has more streaming power than Katy too.

To celebrate its growth, Spotify also detailed a few fun statistics on what people are listening to. Somehow, Eminem is its most streamed artist of all time, with Rihanna coming in first place among female artists. David Guetta and Katy Perry take second place for most-listened-to male and female artists, and Avicii takes the title for most streamed song with "Wake Me Up," which has seen a staggering 235 million listens.

No,you didn't get it actually. I said that Katy has more streams because of her massive hits. Gaga's strong point is streaming, she just didn't have a hit similar in level to Katy's hits this era. Gaga has a bigger and more faithful fanbase and the shocking factor around her persona as well make streaming her strong point. Katy obviously has more streaming this Era but Katy had much much bigger hits as well. Idk if I made clear what I wanted to say.

That's a bit irrelevant given that streaming power is gained by having more hits :awkney: We cannot say Gaga has more streaming power if she had more hits because that hasn't happened and she's lagging behind many artists on Spotify which might I add is a free service for many.

Spotify has gained relevance after 2012 though. Gaga didn't have a hit to Katy's size since then. Streaming power is not having more streaming than a hit with a flop, its a song having more streaming than other songs of its same league. If you remember during Applause- Roar Applause was gaining more streaming not only from fans but from the public as well. Of course after Roar became massive it also had a big lead in streaming. If Applause was as big as Roar it would have more streams. This is what I mean and it is not something hypothetical, it's very real. For example GUY that was a massive flop has 50M views, very big number for a flop. Streaming power is an a--logy, not a number.

The point is you can't say Gaga has more streaming power because she doesn't. Rihanna and Katy are the most streamed for a reason because they get streamed a lot. Gaga doesn't.

Gaga doesn't since the last Era though. Before that we just didn't have Spotify. Also with streaming power I don't mean who has the more streams, I mean who has more streaming than others of the same league usualy get. For example Katy's songs have big streaming but not something out of usual of the streaming massive hits like hers would get. Rihanna that is more powerful in streaming, if she gets a Katy sized hit it will have more streaming. Katy's moderate hits and flops like Uncle and Birthday have very weak streaming. The thing with Katy is that she has the support of the most important format, airplay. Airplay brings sales, streaming and chart positions. Streaming by itself can't do the difference (except if the video goes viral) because if the song doesn't have airplay it will never become very big and so streaming itself can't become huge either. If the song has huge airplay it will also get streaming sooner or later like Katy's songs. Then if a a song with powerful streaming gets big airplay then the streaming will also explode like a big Gaga hit (that we haven't seen since Telephone or BTW).

There's a lot of ifs in your post, though and therefore Gaga does not have streaming power at the moment. I understand what you're saying but this is one case where we cannot try to make Gaga seem bigger than she is because in this era of streaming she's not doing well at all.
