Judas was seriously damaging. It led for the entire album to slow down its momentum. She should have scored a second HOT 100 #1 from BTW (even for 1 week) at that time from hype alone, but with a rush release and controversial lyrics in the most inconvenient timing, it made such chart domination impossible.

If Judas was released properly it would have debuted at least at top 3 and it had also chances for #1.

I just realized after Judas she hasn't got another 3x platinum single in the US

the edge of glory and applause coming to avenge judas ha failure

Like I said though, take the religious themes out of Judas and that song would've been golden so I can see why it was chosen. In my opinion Marry the Night should've been the second single and either Bloody Mary or Electric Chapel should've been the fifth single (more ballad, slower songs comparable to Paparazzi and Alejandro).

Bloody Mary as a single :rip:

Electric Chapel has been my favorite since the album came out, and maybe it could have slayed with the hype she had at the time. But it's def not a pop song.

Electric Chapel and Bloody Mary are also on my favorites from BTW! :legend: I thin that EC could have done well as a single.

EC is shockingly underrated. It's one of her most unique and captivating songs.

Electric Chapel was ruined by its chorus, or lack thereof. If it had a soaring chorus it could have been one of my faves.

Gaga didn't lose her radio support with Judas. Gaga started loosing her radio support after Telephone and it had nothing to do with the songs, Its just that Gaga is too polarising to become the b---h of radio and as soon as she started loosing the "new" factor she lost her radio support because the Gaga persona is too much for radio, radio never was and will never be her strong point regardless of her domination during TF era. Still would Judas as a song ever get airplay support? No, but it didn't kill Gaga's radio power, as it is seen by TEOG. Lady Gaga will never rely on radio again, she is not a persona made for radio, her commercial power lies in her personax the hype around her and the media. The Aura that everyone wants to touch. This is a major reason that AP struggled, because of the negative hype around it from the beginning.

As for the protests, you know you are on the right track when closeminded people protest against you.

TeoG didn't get huge Pop radio support, it was big on radio because it was big on HAC and AC radio. And every pop artist relies on radio :toofloppy: you must have radio support to get a successful single

I didn't say that Gaga won't have any radio support, I said that radio is not her strong point.

True, but that wouldn't have changed its fate on radio (which makes songs a hit)
