The song begins with put some lipstick on etc and has a the title MANiCURE. I mean its obvious. I know that the song has a different meaning and everything but people can't understand all these things with one listen.

People barely care about lyrics. It's a feel-good, catchy, fun, rock-pop-edm song. If the era still had momentum going, I would've wanted that as a single.

I dont understand, and I am not trying to troll or anything. But how is putting lipstick on, and doing girly things to get a man like taboo or even unrelatable. this is what regular people do. if anything, is actually pretty relatable.

being in love with judas is taboo. or eating a crucifix, and having upside down crosses on ur dress.

and unrelatable would be like applause. the majority of people are not performers.

but just dressing up to look good, and get a date. i mean....it would be taboo to nuns.

Applause was not that unrelatable, its relatable to a similar way that most LG songs are, not directly but through Gaga. A song called MC will create taboos to males, lets not. The double crosses, Judas etc are also taboo for many people but they are also controversy, which gives buzz and a the feeling of "coolness" around the song, its not the same.

Anyway guys I think that Gypsy, Sexxx Dreams or Dope have much more hit potential regardless of which song I like more. I even believe that Aura has more hit potential that MC imo. I just can't hear the hit on MV regardless of how much I like the song and I think that the fact that Gaga used it in the credits is a sign that it won't become a single.

I think that with MANiCURE, some here are assuming is about cross dressing because its Gaga? But the song is actually about a girl dressing up so you can find a man, hence, a man cure. lol. 

 

 

edit: I think you are assuming that all songs have to be unis-x to cater to both s-xes. but hot boyz by missy elliot became a hit. anyways, iam dropping this.

I do agree with that. People here seem to assume the public mostly relates to lyrics. I, for one, could seriously care less about lyrics. It's mostly about the sound.

In my opinion MANiCURE is an amazing song but it has no hit potential. The production is extremely out of place for radio these days and the lyrics are very unrelatable and for many will also be a taboo. MC should remain what it is, a great album track.

 

I'm not saying you are wrong, but I remain in high disagreement. The thundering claps and catchy chorus would assure a top ten hit. We all thought Applause was unrelatable but that catchy chorus/pre-chorus and thundering claps held it in the upper ranks for weeks and weeks.

It starts with a sound and then you also look at the lyrics. There is NO song you love that you don't know some of the lyrics.

I always said that Applause in a genious song and its actually relatable through Gaga, like Paparazzi. I think that MC doesn't have that. I love the song so I won't get dissapointed in any way if it becomes a single but still...

I think that all these songs have more hit potential than GUYI mean in the ARTPOP film GUY is the least interesting song of the 4...

Of course there are exceptions but I consider now that Gaga can't take huge risks like that. She needs to pull songs that have big possibilities to become hits, push album copies and all that while drawing a big part of the public. If she had the "space" to risk, she could also release Aura.

Why do you think so? MANiCURE is actually the catchiest song of the whole album for me and I LOVE the vocals and rock-pop sound. The man cure MANiCURE worldplay is fun too. It doesn't have to be relatable. The theme of the song should be somewhat, and the lyrics should be memorizable after the first 1-3 listens like Roar (heard it like 6 times in my life, I know the whole song out of my head)

Whatever you says big hits aren't only supported by females and Gays, they are supported also by straight males. Also Gaga has to protect her image now and she can't afford to turn off straight fans that she earned with Applause and DWUW.

I think that MC is an amazing song, its one of my faves and Gaga performs it amazing! I don't think that it fits with the public though, I hope I am wrong because its amazing but I can't see it...

I honestly don't think she should continue releasing singles from this era. maybe gypsy, but dont risk it w a big production video to waste more money. do a tour video, and if it takes off, do a more decent video.
