I Can't Give You Anything But Love is the 2nd single.

It wasn't like a promo single and not the official ?! (i might be wrong, not really aware of C2C)

I find it funny that albums released after ARTPOP are really struggling to sell 700K.

It is very weird. Most albums this year appear to be heavily front loaded when it comes to sales. Not a good sign.

I'm still surprised record companies dont do something about all these streaming services.

Yep, the streaming is totally to blame. RIAA is going to need to adjust the certification qualifications because 1 million album sales nowadays is way harder to obtain.

I need to educate myself more on what happened. They should have stopped these companies right from the get go. Kinda like Napster 2.0. It's definitely doing more harm than good.

If CTC reached platinum tho  the queen would have risen from the ashes as she was meant to with ARTPOP :legend:

Question relevant to this thread: how can Gaga and her management go on about making sure her next solo pop record is a success after the BTW controversies and hurried finish (MTN and BTWB injury) and ARTPOP's underperformance? Is good promo enough? Does she need to do something specifically to make her the biggest thing again or at least very big?

I think that there's two parts:

- Getting the US public and radio back

- Getting the European public and radio back

US radio will jump on any song when it shows signs of doing well, and a commercial would really help with this. European radio will play the song if it shows strong first week sales and has positive media surrounding it (praised high-profile performance, surprisingly great first-week sales, VEVO record, etc.)

I think that it would really help if they put the song on pre-order about 2 weeks before it drops, so that it would almost definitly debut at #1 on iTunes (first mishap of Applause's run), just like Ariana Grandes Problem.

I wouldn't really worry about the music for the next album. Gaga is experiencing one of the best times of her career (happiness-wise), and she has years and years to write for the next pop album. Another important factor is that the songs will be more organic, because she'll start writing on the piano again for the next few albums instead of getting a production from Zedd or DJWS that she has to make fitting lyrics for. This will make the songs a lot better I'm sure. And she has so much time before the next album, she'll probably have written hundreds of songs before it. Perhaps she'll even have some songs supposed for the rock or jazz album changed into pop songs, which would really make some GREAT songs :legend:

I really wouldn't worry about the music for the next pop album. I think it'll be her best album tbh. She finally has some freedom and doesn't have to rush everything.

How can simple words hype me  I'd be so here for this :whitney: and yes, her writing lyrics on top of productions really hurt the music imo. Her songs written on a piano (TF, TFM, BTW according to her were all written on the piano) are her strongest.

ARTPOP getting its revenge and killing the music industry :applause:

Will all the preorders push C2C up the iTunes Charts on September 23rd ? Or would only new sales do that?

Of course they will, it will go straight to #1 because there is no other major release on September 23rd..

They're earning more money thanks to streaming. The GP uses streaming instead of downloading everything. Sweden, the biggest Spotify market besides the US, is like #13 biggest market with a population of only ~10 million, and their album sales are still pretty good (ARTPOP sold like 30,000, comparable to 1,000,000 in the US).
