As I have said before, I am here for a rock album. Also idk where this "rock isn't popular anymore" idea is coming from. It looks to be like pop is actually what isn't popular anymore and we can already see alternative/indie and folk artists creeping back into the charts.

Who cares about popular anyway? Gaga should make whatever music she wants to make and if she wanted to do rock i would be totally here for that even if she did "flop".

In the United States, "Alejandro" debuted at number 72 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the issue dated April 17, 2010. I know that with Alejandro it was a different story and she had a huge video saved for June, but such a debut doesn't prevent a song from eventually going top 10.

Her team is doing what they can: she has released a video, discounted an album and even appeared on the Letterman, although it was really awkward to see her on such a show  :dies:

Before we write ARTPOP off as the only Gaga album that won't hit platinum, we need to remember that there may be some tricks saved for the future. I remember there was a movie shot by Terry, and I also remember they planned to show it in theaters, so if they're still planning to show it the best time is probably in May, to promote the tour and raise album sales. A movie can create a significant boost for the album sales.

Together with G.U.Y. being in the upper part of Pop Radio in May and with a tour, this could push the album past 1M in the USA by the end of summer.

Not to mention Gypsy. Unless something goes horribly wrong, the odds of it not becoming a single with a respectable run are practically zero. It is the most obvious hit on the album and it's an emotional song, the kind that people will connect with and hold onto. It will be the nostalgia song that keeps ARTPOP selling years from now.

Im blonde, I'm skinny, I'm rich, and I'm a little bit of a bitch.

It's too early for a pop act like her to ditch the genre which made her famous in the first place. Perhaps in five years' time? Or better yet, she could simply incorporate rock music with her current material. Let those rock fans appreciate her, and let the pure pop fans have their catchy hits as well. I'd go for the win-win.

Born This Way says hi :gaga: I'd be here for that as well.

Still don't get what's the point of her converting to rock. She's a pop star & has always been one and pop is what she likes and excels in doing.

Pretty sure there'll be more people for PopGa than for RockGa.

Obvious, it's just a suggestion because Gaga loves rock music.

Lady Gaga Performs 'G.U.Y.' and Top 10 Chart Smasher, 'Dope' on Letterman

:toofunny:

A track that hasn't yet sold a million which could be forever called as a top 10 hit. And now, a smasher. It even got a higher peak than Judas - and possibly two of the three ARTPOP singles.  :legend:

Ah the bright eyed hope of lil monsters  :kissga:

It could happen but at this point I don't expect anything to do well.  :ohno:

And it's the reason why BTW is my top favourite album. I do enjoy rock music from Gaga - as long as it's simply incorporated and not entirely a departure from her dance/pop sound.
