DWUW was a great song which could have been a huge hit, but we all know what happened I'm not saying that ARTPOP is bad, I really love it. But I understand the GP which is obviously not crazy about this record like they were with TF / TFM / BTW. I dont think that it really has to do with the music, but with timing and promotion. What happened with Dwuw is part of this problem, that maybe it will dissapear now that she has a new manager. Mills 446 Posted April 3, 2014 Share Posted April 3, 2014 Timing and promotion could only do so much to prevent a single from not taking off, but it still depends on the music itself and unfortunately the notion of what's "hot" or "cool" from what's not, i.e. the brand of the artist. And that's where she had took a heavy toll. The assertiveness with the whole "artistry" message doesn't help either - in the same way on how the BTW's "preachy" message had done. I thought it'd be out of question whether this single could out-peak MTN or not, but its debut and its current position on iTunes aren't promising much.
