WarriorPrince 1
She is a feminist. She just thinks that it's ok for girls to be underneath sometimes even with the inequality between genders.
Willy Wonka 4
I refuse to answer that just to read an article thats probably untrue anyways. It includes the audio of the question...
Helix 1,478
I mean, I think she is. She can contradict herself a lot but I think she believes in the core meanings of feminism. Just because she enjoys cooking for Taylor and being a "housewife" in some ways (By some quotes I've seen) Doesn't mean she can't ALSO be a feminist. HausOfGuy 10
What's wrong with her saying "don't tell your man what to do"? She didn't say be subservient and let him boss you around. idk it just annoyed me, if man can tell woman what to do (and they/we usually do) than why can't woman tell men what to do? Well i really don't wanna get into that, the reason this annoyed me was because I've always thought of gaga as a powerful and badass chick.
Sabertooth 2
No, she's just a woman.
teo 609
Well she's in control of her life, she makes her millions by herself and she's in charge of her career. No matter what she says on this interview or in that interview, she is one. She's not a traditional feminist for sure, she's a modern feminist. A lot of people mistaken feminism as man hating, being against marriage, running around naked on protests ect. but truth is there are many types of feminism out there. Joey1 0
there's no reason to be a feminist if you simply believe in equality for everyone.

But she directed it at only women. It wasn't "oh don't tell your significant others what to do", it was "women don't tell men what to do"
squeala 875
She is but like... third wave feminism is full of logical loopholes. I think sometimes Gaga is kind of politically blinded by her unshakable trust in human goodness. Nevertheless it's quite likely that her politics will become increasingly radicalised throughout her life; she's never going to stop fighting for equality, and she'll eventually realise that people have to be blamed in order to solve the problems humanity is facing. Well i really don't wanna get into that, the reason this annoyed me was because I've always thought of gaga as a powerful and badass chick. YEs she is a powerful and badass chick in her work. She said that she's in charge all the time while working so to be able to go home and feel like a woman is such a good thing. Every woman likes it. It's nothing bad. She's just a strong, independent woman who needs to feel loved and protected by a man sometimes.
rslayer 0
Wether she acknowledges it or not, she is a feminist in her art expression, in my view.

It wasn't "oh don't tell your significant others what to do", it was "women don't tell men what to do" That irked me a little too. I mean it's fine that she wants that kind of relationship with Taylor, but seriously women get told stuff like "let him be the boss" too often already. Tycho 3,694
She admits off and on to being a feminist but in general I believe she is. I've wrote a big response to this but it's kinda messy so I'll make it short. Some of her greatest influences in life are strong women and she herself is an icon for women in her own right. She's strong, independent, goes against the grain, s-xy, doesn't mind meat on her bones, outspoken, etc. When womanhood is the only subject, she's passionate about it. However there is some confusion because she's so open about her love for strong men. She gets that mostly from Taylor, it's something that attracted her to him. She trusts him completely with the control she gives him and he doesn't abuse that. She likes that she doesn't have to be in control all the time. Understandably she has a lot of responsibilities, I guess she see's it as a break being with him.
