Interscope/Gaga issues?

Your "fact" is what started the whole discussion, so don't act surprised when people discuss your made up "fact".

Venus wasn't the single four times. You made up a couple of those times (from where IDK?) and then speculated on another one. The only time Venus was switched was for DWUW.

Didn't one of the DJs/producers mention Interscopes jump around on single selection in a tweet?

Wtf are you talking about Venus was also the third single sent to radios and it was posted in this forum 40+ times with the station talking about the single swapping?

You're literally ****ting on nothing :wtf:

Gaga and her label communicate about the choice of singles. They have the final say, but she switched quickly and jumped on board with the DWUW switch with both feet.

Nope. Jimmy picked Applause before Gaga had even gotten close to finishing up Venus. The choice for first single was originally between Applause and another song.

No one knows what the third single was going to be/is going to be. It's all speculation. Labels do send out several songs to radio stations to ask for their input. That's easily what could have happened here, because that is a standard practice.

.How would you know? I believe Gaga has a great deal of creative control, or we wouldn't have seen the videos, album covers, lyrical and performance choices we have seen in the past 5 years. What she doesn't have is final say on things like single choices or release dates. She has input, probably quite a bit, but no artist signed with a major has final say on those types of decisions.

Yes. Well - with a major, the more you sell, the more control you get. The less you sell…. the less control, alas.

And radio stations did too

That's the reason I'm asking

Nothing has seemed to go her way this era :emma:

Actually the label chose it and sent it to radio after seeing the initial positive response and expected a large seller.

Interscope has full control of her singles.

Venus was planned before Applause, label switched it.

Planned for second single, they switched it.

Third single, but it was switched to G.U.Y. then back to Venus then to G.U.Y. then possibly MANiCURE.

She doesn't have as much creative control as you think.

Pretty sure if she didn't have creative control she'd be stacking those #1's :usrs:

If her record had control of her single choices, they'd have released the DWUW video, good or bad,  and started GUY already.

She has a lot more creative control than you think.

Cause she's had so many this era, right?  :dead:

She'd have numbers like TF/TFM regardless, which was when her label was probably in control the most as she was just beginning her contract

She doesn't really make anymore "extra revolutionary" music, and she doesn't make generic pop, so she wouldn't be able to stack #1s unless it's on the dance chart (which she will do because she has the gays)

They've been playing around with her singles recently

Also why would they release a music video with her straddling a rapist and garner even more negative press after the whole "ARTFLOP" thing in the media  :manicure:

That's not the way it goes. It helps, but you need respect as an artist, a proven track record and showing that you can sell.

A major label won't let a puppet make major decisions, no matter how much they sell. They know who is smart enough to make decisions about their music, or not.

I'm saying her record label would be pushing her more than they have, if they were in control. The only reason ARTPOP wasn't as "revolutionary" is because it was postponed. It sounds like 2012, not 2014. ACT 2 should be a lot fresher considering it will have more time to be tweaked.

We could also assume they pushed her to release it since she hadn't released anything in a while

But I just want Act II to be, you know, ARTPOP

How could we assume that? Where is the evidence?

Already explained this once.

It was not sent to radio, anymore than Gypsy was as the thirdv single.

Why would they choose the collab with the rapist as the next single in the first place? They had other choices, so why did they go with the song with R. Kelly for the important second single and follow up to Applause?

The initial sales internationally were good and remained strong longer than the other singles :emma:

Do you even check the charts thread

And the vid would have been a wrecking ball sized mess with Terry Richardson

Interscope had Gypsy on its official playlist with other official singles before that ever occurred. Once again, it is not unusual for radio stations to be selected to give opinions on upcoming singles. Happens all the time.

Why would sales be the deciding factor, if they were worried about the rapist?

And you know the answer to that question.
