Emvee 7,584
OP says she's full of **** for changing her mind about something she said 4-5 years ago when she was still transitioning from being a struggling artist in New York... Lol ok Y'all have absolutely no sense of compassion. Ironic.
Wild 1,296
"Surrounds herself with the rich" having a couple rich friends doesn't really mean that "Lives in a mansion" she has an apartment in New York Besides it's her life, and she makes the decisions not us. Maybe she's just getting used to her level of stardom.
La Primavera 13
I don't mind it if she's acting ''upper class'', I sometimes act like that too lol I'm fine with it AS LONG AS SHE LOVES HER FANS AND MAKES AWESOME MUSIC, which she does. Anyways, aren't almost all pop stars like this? Living in a mansion, dating famous guys and having famous friends etc.?
aaronyoji 2,007
Gaga has always contradicted herself when it comes to her claims of not living a luxury life and not having celebrity friends. Even back during TFM and BTW eras she was already rich and surrounding herself with other rich and famous people. We didn't care because she was so focused on her work. I don't think she's changed that much. but thats just it, i wouldnt care about all of these hollywood trappings if she was actually putting out work, and not just work but creative, great work that harnessed her potential, but she hasnt been. Botticelli Punk 0
Maybe, but we must have in mind that when she used to say those things she hadn't really experienced the situations that she refused, so she couldn't have a clear view of that kind of lifestyle. Also, as some have said, she has changed a lot in the last five years. She's still the same person in many ways, but we can't deny that she has changed. That's how life is

Shadow 6,328
You'll always will be cool, kind hearted man to me, Mikey. These new folks don't know you. I don't think the op meant harm with this question. Y'all need not bite his head off for questioning something she said years ago. 🖤“Thoughts are the shadows of our feelings -- always darker, emptier and simpler.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche
Chucky 39
all I wanted to do was point out the irony.... I don't see anything wrong with it..... my mansion and Hollywood guy may be exaggerated but I figured everyone would get the jist of what I meant.... she's a starlet now of sorts..... go her.... thank u.... aquaprincess 23
She's not just some Hollywood airhead though, quite the opposite. She has taken her art and put it into pop culture, and it's amazing. So yes, we didn't expect ARTPOP from the beginning, in terms of what she'd being doing during the album cycle. But I think it all makes sense. People change. Think about yourself 5 years ago. Have you changed a lot? I sure have. this
Miss Piggy 7
She definitely acts upperclass. I mean remember when she was wearing a Kermit the frog dress and made a statement she hates wearing fur. Nowadays she wearing fur.
tokyodisko 0
She has definitely changed. I do like that she is more social with other people now, but now she lost what made her music so special. I mean, I love her music, but almost every song on ARTPOP could have been done by another artist and no one would know the difference. Venus and GUY are the two that capture the original Gaga feel to me.

nativenewyorker 1,190
Donatella is really her only connection with the upper class. She's doing a campaign because she must obviously believe in the brand and wants to surround herself in the legacy. I agree that it goes against what she said but clearly she made an exception. Fashion is the only exception.
craig 680
1. It's very hard for celebs to make non-celeb friends. Either they're fans, or want a piece of your money and fame, or are annoyed by fame and all that goes with it and don't understand what celebs go through. 2. Gaga is enough of a misfit weirdo with issues, I don't mind her balancing that side out.
