SummerGirl21 787
And she was on the worst dressed that year too who cares? It's Bjork. and like Gaga hasn't been on worst dressed lists before? just because the GP thinks something isn't pretty doesn't mean it's not iconic. the swan dress was, is, and always will be iconic. SKANK 14,288
That bjork dress was ugly tho sorry. I remember thinking at the time wtf is she wearing?! Bjork wore the swan dress to the Oscars as an act of artistic expression, Gaga wore the Versace gown to the Oscars because she was contractually obligated to. Both of them will be on the worst dressed lists, but only one of them will have been true to their art.

Haunts 7
She used to speak about how she hated award shows, that she only attended them to perform. She said she never wanted to be "just another b---h in a dress at an awards show." I suppose she doesn't mind being that b---h anymore. It is disappointing that her first trip down the Oscar red carpet was a cheap promotional mission for Verscae. Yeah, but she has grown since then. Tbh, I thought it was a little presomptuous when she used to say that. If you had the opportunity to be in a room with all the people you've admired since you were a child, you would. You know, getting all glamed up, enjoying a night out, feeling the energy of (the most prestigious) award show and yeah, meeting the most talented people in the world... Plus, it was to help her dear friend Donatella. Versace strive on having an iconic ingenue showing up everywhere in their designs. It's their trademark and it is what brought so much longevity to the brand. Gaga plays that role flawlessly and has brought a breath of fresh air to the brand. AND, Elton John was hosting an after party, would you refuse an invite from one of your closest friend you don't get to see that often? Never! She had too many reasons to go, you absolutely cannot blame her for it. Truthfully, I'm having a hard time seeing the criticism in here. The dress is bland? Really? The silhouette is classic but SO flattering. The structure is outstanding. The fit is on point, with the corseted bustier moprhing into a flowy garment seamlessly. You guys forget what haute couture is, you see a dress and don't look at it. I loved seeing her in avant-garde looks but I like to see her pay homage to the craftmanship of fashion now. I can't even begin to imagine the hours of work put into that gown. The level of details is just mind boggling. The different shades of lilac, pink and silver; all the different finishes, layers and textures creating this truly grandiose ensemble... It was appropriate, it wasn't extravagant because the evening wasn't about her and it would have been an obvious attempt to plug her record. She was demure and elegant, just like the event and her role in the event should be. The hair line does look a bit odd in certain close up pictures, because short sleeked back hair is hard with a wig. You cannot hide anything or draw the eye away from the hairline with length or style. Sometimes, wigs are just oddly made, and god knows in what situation she had to get ready. She was late, wasn't she? Nevertheless it was the right hairstyle for the dress, especially with the cape/scarf. You can't wear your hair down with that. It was old hollywood and brought focus to the dress because it highlighted the shoulders and so the bustier. The make-up and hairstyle didn't steal focus... I'm sorry but the look was absolutely on point you guys.

Celina 118
Are people seriously taking this appearance as some sort of betrayal to her work/usual fashion? She looked like a goddess. I hope she had a great time :)
