So funny to see people flip out over the headline without reading the article. I used to live across from that parking lot where the Doritos stage goes up. I agree with the commenter that said if she were to perform outside on this lot, it would shutdown the east side of downtown. And the SXSW festival would come to a grinding halt that day. Maybe could you tell me what they are saying exactely I think this is the sentence that at least leads me to believe there is a possibility they could be investigating other venues: "We informed the applicant that we would support relocation to an established venue with the necessary permanent infrastructure," Pitts added. It's not saying anything definite - The city big wigs are just saying the only reason she was denied is that they feel it wouldn't be safe at the suggested stage because there would be so many people/not enough security infrastructure. They support the idea of her performing at a venue that can withstand her awesomeness. :) There *are* venues here in town that would be appropriate - the only question is if any of them are unbooked at this point and if all the red tape could be worked out. I'm in Austin but I had no idea about any of it until I saw this, so I'll be keeping my ear open now! If you guys hear anything, you should come let us Austinites know!!I'll die if this happens!
