Do you mean Alternative?

Indie Rock, it just didn't fit in the title.

Btw, Alternative is not Lorde, Florence, or Lana like many of users here think. (And Lorde is not Indie Rock at all, she does minimal and electronica, neither is Lana.)

Alternative is Coldplay, U2, Muse, Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, etc.

Indie Rock is The Black Keys, Death Cab, The Kooks, Ratatat, and Florence.

Gaga will never been seen as indie. If she went indie, she would be considered a "has been" in pop, and still "too mainstream" for the indie community.

indie means independent aka not on a label or a label not owned by UMG or SONy or whatever

Have you read my past 3 or 4 comments saying I meant Indie Rock, but it just didn't fit in the title.

Why are you associating Indie rock with the "hipster" community tho? Are you forgetting that Indie rock was slaying the charts a few years ago?

indie and gaga do not fit well. The gaga persona, or even legend, is based on pop. She is a human embodiement of pop culture. everything about her is pop, cultural and kitschy-mise en abysme of the decay, rise an fall of icons.

She is Pop.

Did she not start with rock/pop-rock? What makes you think she can't transform again? :usrs:

Gaga doing Alternative Rock? She could do it...I guess...but, the Alt. Rock stations wouldn't support her. They won't even support artists like Pink, with some of her more rock leaning songs.

Alternative Rock is, by and large, a format and genre dominated by male artists and groups and male listeners. I don't see how Gaga would fit into that particular genre.

If I liked the music then yes. If I didn't, well, I think I'd still Stan, I mean there are always people that don't like particular albums. I think I'll be one of those who just stick it out and wait and see what the next album brings

If the genre was all that changed, and if the music was still good, of course.

Actually, if everything besides the genre stayed the same - the delivery of the music through her performances and videos, her personality, etc. - but I disliked the new music, I'd still stick around, because the music is only a part (although an obviously significant one) of the full package that is Gaga, IMO.
