Why Gaga needs to cancel her show in Israel

Gaga doesn't "need" to do anything tbh. Every fan around the world deserve to have the possibility of seeing her live. Entertainment and politics should not be as intervened. If anything she could go there and speak about the issue while performing, like in Russia. That would raise more awareness than just skipping the country. It would make headlines and make a splash tbh.

But wouldn't speaking out on political issues during her show be interweaving politics and entertainment? She spoke out about Arizona's SB 1070 law in 2010, was that mixing politics and art?

Perhaps she shouldn't go, but the tour is just about making money for Gaga and Interscope, so while she might still preach her love and acceptance, the money unfortunately comes first.

Wait, people in Gaza aren't allowed to leave? I'm not really educated when it comes to the Israel/Palestine conflict so I don't know much about logistics and movement.

There is a blockade put in place in gaza that stops them freely travelling around Israel and palestine.

The Palestinians are face with checkpoint stops and made to live behind walls that have been described as prison camps due to the Israeli occupation. There are also Israeli only roads and seperate roads for the Palestinians.

Well I said "if anything" because it's Gaga we're talking about :rip:

I am here for her to advocate equality and free Palestine dyring her shows there. Might be risky and make her banned for life but bold move are needed.

This is honestly what worries me the most. Maybe now Gaga has sort of some power again by firing troy she can sort of have a say in this stuff? Gaga will most definitely put human rights in front of money in my honest opinion,

Everytime a celebrity goes to Israel it is reported to high heavens by their media and is used to try and show the rest of the world that they are a normal state that anyone can visit . This is far from the truth , the place is very segregated and the concert will also be segregated as it is an apartheid state , the Palestinians will be not allowed In.

For those of you who think she should go for the fans, the fans she will be performing for are those that are the privileged in an apartheid state (Israeli Jews). People from Gaza are not permitted to enter Tel Aviv, her Palestinian fans are under being illegally detained by the Israeli army.

Trust me on this it is an important issue and I wouldn't place importance on it unless it was. No moral person should support Israel's economy until they no longer carry out racial segregation and apartheid on the Palestinians.

Israel still applies 20 laws that privilege Jews over Arabs. For example, the 1950 Law of Return grants automatic citizenship rights to Jews from anywhere in the world upon request, while denying that same right to Palestinians Government resources, meanwhile, are disproportionately directed to Jews and not to Arabs, one factor in causing the Palestinians of Israel to suffer the lowest living standards in Israeli society by all economic indicators.

Human Rights Watch has compiled an extensive study of Israel's policy of "separate, not equal" schools for Palestinian children, finding that "Government-run Arab schools are a world apart from government-run Jewish schools. In virtually every respect, Palestinian Arab children get an education inferior to that of Jewish children, and their relatively poor performance in school reflects this."

As many as 100 Palestinian villages in Israel, many of which pre-date the founding of the state, are not recognized by the Israeli government, and are not listed on maps and receive no services (water, electricity, sanitation, roads, etc.) from the government. More than 70,000 Palestinians live in these unrecognized villages. Meanwhile, hundreds of new Jewish towns have been established on lands confiscated from Palestinians.

This country goes against everything Gaga has stood for and is being boycotted by many influential moral people around the world and Gaga should do the same, sometimes the moral thing is more important than the money. Years from now when Palestine is free, just like when south African apartheid ended people will look back at those that supported Israel and supported their economy and will see just how detrimental they were to the peace talks. I know the easy thing for us to do would be to ignore all this but we have to try to do our part to help make the world a better place

The fans can't help being privileged though, can they?

I mean, I think many aren't even old enough to vote yet.

If you get what I am saying, you should agree that the Israeli fans ( both Arab and Jewish) have the right to enjoy the show and the entertainment that is offered!

This is the first priority here: Entertainment, Art an Pop combined in one big show that reaches to the applause of the audience.

No politics is even a factor here and it shouldn't be.

Again, you want to enter the political argument. You have the right to say your opinion but your opinion is very narrow minded and you need to know that!

Why is Gaza managed by a teror organization? Can you answer that?

Do you really expect Israel to sacrifice her ONLY country by the hands of terror coming from Gaza?

There is a priority for each country and that is to DEFEND herself.

The war has no winners but just losers. The fans are not responsible for the war and you can't punish them for that.

If entertainers would follow your words, then that means they shouldn't go to atleast 30 countries because every country failed in a way that you could say: " entertainers shouldn't enter this country".

You could say this to Russia, Syria, Lebanon ( also managed by a terror organization), Iran, and more countries.

I'm sure if you'd research some more, you would see that Syria has reacted to her OWN citizens much but much more badly.

Gaza ( that is managed by a terror organization) is definitely not 100% supporting human rights.

I can give you 100 reasons but there is one thing you should know, there are no winners in war: just losers.

And entertainment is like a far far spot on the globe and shouldn't be managed by politics.

I guess some of us have different priorities. You obviously think it is ok for the treatment and we should all just forget about it and enjoy the music yet some of us put human rights first and foremost, entertainment doesn't compare when it comes to the rights of humans.

You claim Israel needs to defend itself yet Israel has killed thousands and thousands more than the opposition, so you tell me really who really needs protecting and who really is the oppressor?

You claim gaza is headed by a terror organisation but what about Israel? They also are headed by a terror organisation, one that has killed thousands of innocents. Both sides have bad guys, both sides have people who hate one another and unfortunately it is the Palestinians that are paying the price by being held under by the Israeli army in disregard to countless human right violations.

I'm sorry but sometimes things come above entertainment and this is one of them, Gaga should show she does not support this apartheid state.

She should do the same in regards to Israel, just like how she was calling for a boycott of Russia for their treatment of Gays,

I totally agree with you on this point.

I am happy for the fans/regular people that get to see her in Tel Aviv, don't get me wrong. The Israelian state is just not something I can support.

"I'm just a pop star in disguise, my true passion is activism and my true passion is spreading love." - Gaga

She performed in Arizona and Russia so I can't imagine she would cancel her show in Israel, but I would love for her to speak out against the things you mentioned. It just needs to be brought to her attention. Get creative, and get her attention.

This is one of my favourite quotes by her, just shows her heart is always is the right place. She would get incredible flack in Israel for speaking about their policies at best she can play it safe and give a speech about respect and equality for all humans like Madonna did when she visited tel aviv but even that is not enough and won't really help anything. The best way would be to send a message like countless others have done by refusing to bring economy there until apartheid is no longer in place

Not that nonsense again. She'll perform in Tel-Aviv whatever you say, the fans and the public who pay to see her live is her priority. Not the politics of the states and governments. We don't want another Jakarta situation, that will be a shame for the entire region.
