Ascetic 0
I'm not "just realising" anything. I haven't stated my opinion on whether Israel should or should not be a country as I don't think that's the issue here. I think the issue is that by going to Israel, Gaga is legitimising it as a country and while it's not going to suddenly change everything it is part of a wider problem of apathy. I think it's fine that she's going to Israel and the fact that it's still a country defended by Western powers means its here to stay

dy2light 31
Alright everyone, I hate having to be stern, but listen up: Fellow Jews and/or Zionists, can we PLEASE not alienate those who share the opinions of the OP? Same goes to those who do not believe the State of Israel is ethical and/or legitimate. Please don't alienate those who support the State of Israel. Unless we can all set aside the inflammatory rhetoric and actually have a rational dialogue, we will never be able to come to any sort of agreement when it comes to: 1. What the State of Israel and Palestine ACTUALLY are or are not 2. The events that have ACTUALLY happened over the years, and are happening now 3. Determine how to move forward in a way that would be best (ok, least damaging) for everyone 4. and many other issues surrounding and within what I've outlined... Oh, and here's some strong advice (for anyone to whom this may apply): do NOT rely mainly on American Media when it comes to ANYTHING in the Middle East, especially the Israeli-Palestinian situation. Unless you are an ACTUAL Israeli or Palestinian, or have actually lived in the region itself and heard FROM BOTH SIDES, trying to UNDERSTAND BOTH SIDES, then please don't act as if your opinion is well-informed or "the correct opinion". I have actually been in Israel, hearing from people on both sides of this issue, and from the "center" position of these issues. I don't go shoving my opinions down people's throats because, quite frankly, this is an extremely complex issue that simply cannot be understood well by many people. I've heard many, many things from many people, and even I admit that I still do not adequately understand the issue quite enough to come to any strong conclusions. Why? It's just that complex. Unless you have actually heard from both Israelis AND Palestinians, then you will never be able to understand the complexity of this issue. Unless you actually understand many different perspectives from all sides of these issues, then: DO NOT SHOVE YOUR OPINIONS DOWN PEOPLE'S THROATS. Thanks. mvgp 112
I wonder if the people that are for Gaga to play in Israel would also be for her to play in Russia
CannaeDrive 3,412
I wonder if the people that are for Gaga to play in Israel would also be for her to play in Russia I'm all here for her to perform both in Israel and Russia, She should be able to perform in EVERY COUNTRY. Problem is, apparently she is not allowed to perform in Russia now, and look what happened in Indonesia in 2012, they had to cancel her show because of violence threats by Islamist extremists.
