Pitch 204
I think TFM was quite experimental imo it wasnt, BR, Tele, Monster are quite commercial, DITD and Ale also had a commercial "sound", the only really experimental songs on the album imo are SHICD and Teeth LADY GAGA/madonna/katy perry/little mix/ariana grande/selena gomez/britney spears/taylor swift
freebit 6,240
This. It's just the stanning of success as usual. I'm not saying that people can't prefer others but the fact that some absolutely hate his production is just excessive imo. as for JnD I hated it but after the instrumental it has slayed me. I want the Acapella so someone can put in just TI and Gaga and leave the other two rappers out Yeah, people do too much on DJWS at times. I honestly think her lyrics are what really turned some people off from ARTPOP rather than just the actual production. I actually prefer Too $horts verses . 'It's Good *** in the passenger seat/ I just want to have some ****in fun' are pretty much the only memorable parts of Jewels N' Drugs for me, lol. That and the weird incesty themes. Overall though, I feel like either Jewels N' Drugs needed a better hook, or DJWS should have just kept it for someone else.
Dean Winchester 197
there is a middle ground, ala TFM The thing is gaga isn't gonna make music like TFM anymore cuz with every album she grows as an artist and musician. BTW was a huge jump from TFM in terms of music experimentation in pop culture since it had a rocky sound to it and cuz of the statement it was trying to make. I find ARTPOP to be common ground. Its like a hybrid between TFM and BTW. I think that was her intention cuz BTW was too extreme in terms of controversy, its political messages, and religious references. Whereas TFM is more on the other side of the spectrum where its more fun, and full of songs u'd hear in a club. :)
VforVendetta 2,024
Well, TF was critically acclaimed and received a higher metacritic than ARTPOP. Then again it's just a matter of tastes, but she developed something unique with TF in terms of musical style.TF had a style, a vision and everything, its just not as a full quality work as Gagas next albums and its OK, you can't be born perfect, there is no beauty behind being perfect. Still TF is better than any Rihanna and Katy album. As for the critical acclaim, it has to do more that it was Gagas first album, when she was praised to the heavens. All debut albums by big artists are a bit overrated.

VforVendetta 2,024
I never said that my opinion is more important than yours. But its my problem for who I am going to stan ;) Of course its your decision, I just said it for you. Yeah, people do too much on DJWS at times. Gagas verse, chorus on Jewels & Drugs is what makes the song, the rest except from T.I verse is generic and mediocore in my opinion.
XoXoJoanneGaga 629
DJWS makes 'bops' aka high-energy robotic songs to dance/work out to. I really like all his songs except Jewels N Drugs, but he's not the type of producer who can make a hit, or a song with a lot of emotion in it. The only emotional songs on ARTPOP (Dope and Gypsy) he didn't produce. I think he was right for this album but I don't want another album with him, she has to progress and I'd like for her to make hits again and music with more depth that you can connect to emotionally (TFM is filled with songs like this)

Dope and Gypsy are very emotional because they are ballads.

Essence 235
LOL sorry I'm just a little upset about this era... <3 I'm sick of people stanning for success rather than Gaga herself. Success should be a bonus of good music and art. The music and art should always come first.

IDK, I just feel that "slap honey on a young pancake" verse is "lol WTF", and not a good "lol WTF" ala the iconic "bluffin' with my muffin." It just didn't work. That pancake lyric is just nonsense, whereas the muffin line actually made sense (and was perfect & hilarious). And I don't think T.I. brought anything special to the table tbh (aside from his fine self of course ).

eamonster123 0
DJWS provides nothing "fresh" to the table in terms of production. Yes DWUW was good, but he said he got the song from one of his close "friends", so im skeptical of how much of the song he actually produced. Yes he is diverse, but who cares if the productions still sounds basic. She needs to go back to redone and keep madeon+zedd for act II, i need dem hits againn
Guest
Yeah, I think he is. Is he the best producer Gaga's ever worked with? I wouldn't say that, but he's an absolutely amazing producer, and he's clearly the best at making Gaga's visions come into fruition considering how close he is to her and how well he understands her creatively. He's a gem, tbh. Not all artists have someone like that.
