How "clean" is ARTPOP for you in terms of sound?

I was listening to Sexxx Dreams, and damn that production was clean and perfected.

Imo, here are the top songs in terms of production on ARTPOP:

Sexxx Dreams

G.U.Y. (because Zedd had already done it before :hor:)

MANiCURE

Mary Jane Holland (also if you hate this song listen to the instrumental snippet and be slayed)

Fashion!

Applause

Venus (future single tbh :hor:)

Some that sound good, but incomplete:

Gypsy (TEOG is that you???)

DWUW

Donatella (maybe it's the lyrics to me idk but I'm fab)

Swine

Please remove these:

JND

Aura (HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA)

How CLEAN do you think ARTPOP sounds, and do you think she should remove the filler from her next album, or limit it to 2 to 3 songs?

It sounds really clean and polished to me compared to her previous album. Applause and GUY are good examples of this. Some of the songs are a bit much, though, in terms of production. I know a lot of people like JnD and MJH's instrumentals, but they're a bit too "busy" for my personal taste :)

she hasn't had fillers since TFM lmao, last 3 albums had a central theme and every song goes with it so there haven't been any fillers.

That's exactly how I feel about Aura, so I understand your point of view

I feel like the song that has the perfect amount of vocals and harmony and production is Fashion! ironically

I think Applause and MJH are the least clean. The chorus of Sexxx Dreams also is a little unclean.

And there are no fillers.  None of them are basic everyday songs.

It's quite clean. It's dense, because Gaga likes dense productions, but it's still clean.

There's a big difference between "dense" and "messy" productions.

Last part is true, and they all sound like they could stand out on their own but putting them together has overwhelmed the sound

But they could all be singles it's scary

DWUW sounds clean to me.

DWUW production feels clean to me too.

But nice to see appreciation for the Goddess' own handiwork in the OP :applause:

its a little too clean. it lacks interesting production in a lot of areas, less detail. when all the intrumentals leaked, they where awesome, but not once did i go "omg i never knew that sound existed!" i was just able to hear things more clear from sounds i already had a hunch where already there.

btw as an instrumental album>>>>>>the production on any other of her albums. i can listen to born this way the instrumentals and still enjoy it as its own album it had a stronger direction, it didn't sound like watered down trends of whats going on at the time.

that being said, the first 4 songs on ARTPOP have my favorite production, and then its dwuw, ARTPOP, swine, fashion!, mjh, and gypsy and applause have really good production, but im kind of indifferent to them. they fit for the song, but it sort of is what it is. gypsy has like a few nice synths and i like when i can hear madeon's influence, but in general its just a watered down edge of glory with a little bit of hair in there. and applause i like its production, i like the tempo, the slight bubblegum j-pop synth throughout, but right when i heard it, i thought of the year 2010. it sounds like a 3OH!3 song, mixed with kelis, but this is all production wise. (melodically, its like bowie meets, well gaga's signature catchy hook choruses.)
