Ray of Light 8,134
Honestly I think the year-long gap between the end of BTW era and the ARTPOP record being released will do her a world of good in the long-run. Bionic being "ahead of it's time" is the worst excuse I've ever heard. It wasn't ahead of it's time at all, it was simply bad. You think I don't know this? :cryga:

TEANUS 14,947
I'm sorry I don't mean to be rude but I see no logic in that at all. Just because Vincent said that, he gave no implication to how far along in the process they are. Gaga has only had just over a week off and since the time before that to the time Vincent said 6-7 songs were finished, she hasn't had any time to record anything in a studio. If anything she's probably only had enough time to maybe write a few more and play around with DJWS and Madeon in hotel rooms. Also, I need to point out that before Born This Way was released, she had already announced at probably over 10 shows over an 8 - 10 month span that Born This Way was already finished, when in fact she was still recording just weeks before the official album release. Gaga also told us she hates the word 'deluxe'. If anything we will probably get another special edition with a few bonus tracks. It really doesn't matter though. In Gaga's eyes the special edition IS only the album in it's entirety and they just cut it short so they can release two versions to make more money and have it chart longer. Basically what I am saying is that there is no telling how far along they are and that when an album is recorded, they just record and record until they feel they have enough decent material to put out, they don't plan on having a set number of tracks. Once they have enough good material, they present it to the label and then it is afterwards they start cutting and leave the majority of the marketing to the label. She may have an idea of how many tracks she wants to put out but her main job is just to record and write music. I don't think you can just assume that she has already recorded 3-5 tracks and there are another 3-5 tracks to be recorded. She's been writing for this album since she was promoting BTW, maybe earlier, and if you want to go on logic, and it took her over a year to record 6-7 tracks then surely it would be illogical to assume she has already recorded another 3-5 tracks in the past month. I find it best to leave logic out of it, that makes the wait less bearable and you'll just get yourself frustrated when you realise that your predictions don't turn out to be what you always thought they were. I think in this particular fan base we should have learned by now that to over a--lyze is a bad thing! You know what, did I say I know how many songs are recorded.... NO and neither do you!! I made a prediction, you even said that, just because Vincent said there are 6-7 songs done, how do you know he didn't just hear 6-7 songs, Gaga could have showed him the songs they had time to listen to in their busy schedules?? Gaga could've showed him another 3-4 songs not that long after his interview. BTW: Over-Analyzing is what gets us to decode and figure out Gaga's cryptic messages, if we're wrong, we have no reason to be upset because we make a prediction, we shouldn't fight over or call other people's predictions wrong. I'm sorry I upset you with my prediction. But I don't care, I just make a prediction I think is possible and go with it. Have a nice day!! :kisses: British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS

I never said your prediction was wrong, I simply said it was illogical and I'm sure many would agree with me. Don't get me wrong I wish you were right and they were that far along, that way we would have high hopes for the album to be released sooner than we think but in my own opinion, judging from the past, I would say everything you predict/hope for is most definitely illogical. Please also do not disregard everything else I said previously, I raised some pretty valid points to support my argument and I still stand by what I say. Gaga has a tendency to over hype music too soon, but I'm sure she does that because she is genuinely proud of what she has so far created and I'm sure she is eager to share it with the rest of the fans. Not only did Gaga say BTW was finished (about 10 months before she actually stopped recording for it), but she did also say BTW was going to be released top of the year and we didn't get it until the end of May. I will also still say to you that to over a--lyze will only leave you in disappointment. I think it's fair to say that Gaga is one of the most unpredictable artists in the world. As the lead up to BTW went by we were expecting a Bad Romance 2.0 and a song called 'Hooker On A Church Corner' with a bunch of other stuff we were expecting which never happened because we over a--lyzed everything! All I'm saying is, it would be a waste of your time to transform your expectations in to complete fantasy. Take things with a pinch of salt and you'll probably be pleasantly surprised :) Chromatica fan chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ObU0LRigtBKBmqxG5qVFoQ?fbclid=IwAR3hOUvyy93_W9ka9iDZBINEVVTRQp-Sd_PFLpwUJgef_SUW01jg3sHyukY
DirtyPony 9
I'm honestly sick and tired of the dark, black, grimy, shaded era. I hope ARTPOP is more full of life, high spirits, vitality, sparkle and body. I loved 'Bad Romance' when we were first introduced to more of the shadowy, darkened vibe, but now I feel it's a little over-done to the extent where it's too confusing and doesn't make any since. I want ARTPOP to be something we've never thought of before. I'm not saying I want 'The Fame Era' back, but I do miss the colors. I'm also NOT saying I want the 'Old Gaga' back either. All I'm implying is that I just want more impulse and luminosity. I want to feel alive when I first hear ARTPOP. "She gave us the fame in are own little world. We had to fight off the mons†ers in the crazy swirl. After we did, we were born again, to dance and be free, with the ARTPOP we see." Mars 2,327
Looking back on Gaga's career, the one thing I agree with most is what Bjork said about Gaga "different factors aligned for her". I know thats short but they truly did. She changed pop music forever with The Fame by bringing dance music from the underground back into the spotlight and then, the lightness and quirkiness of The Fame was contrasted with TFM which was a flawless, perfect piece of art. It was also released when the world was economically and politically in a darker place. Everywhere in pop culture was drawn to the gothic, from contemporary art to fashion and music. Witchhouse was just emerging in the music world, Terence Koh was huge in the art world with his baroque gothic-ness and Gareth Pugh was becoming more and more successful with his work in fashion. TFM came out at this time, and I think its safe to say the release of it was perfect. I remember listening to Alejandro on repeat on a gloomy November afternoon and drinking to Bad Romance with my friends or alone on a cold winter night. It was so magical. The biggest flaw to BTW was the cynicism surrounding Gaga. We now live in an age of cynicism and sometimes we are, as fans, Gaga's biggest critics. Sonically BTW was brilliant, the way she mixed Whitney inspired lyrics and beats with anthemic choruses and so on. The transformation from weird pop star to political activist. A lot of good things came from that era, but in the mainstream public it was cynical, people doubted what she was saying, we as fans became obsessive and Gaga hyped. I think with ARTPOP, she will take a more care-free, hedonistic route. I don't think it'll be set in a certain genre. It'll be applicable, tactile and fun. Like putty. Lyrically we don't have much to go on or think about, sonically we only have the producers own work and I think that is the way it should stay, try not hype, stay low, keep it contained. Then one day we get something, and before we know it, it's begun. Edited October 18, 2012 by bornthiswaybaby

toanythingtaboo 5
I really don't want ARTPOP to be dumbed down though. I don't think it will. She can sing about s-x, d--gs and rock n roll without it being vapid. I do think we're about to be hit with a f*ckload of irony, satire and metaphors though. On the surface she may appear frivolous and carefree singing about smoking weed, for example, but underneath there'll be something much deeper. Or, perhaps the music will be totally ambiguous to anyone who doesn't 'get it', but enjoyable pop anyway. Basically music with layers that appease fans on varying levels, which is what she does well with her pop-ier stuff. BTW, in contrast, had music that didn't bother much with the sugar to help the medicine go down. The messages were pretty blunt and that scared off casuals. Compare Judas to The Edge of Glory. Quality aside, one is about death and one is about boy betrayal. On paper you'd think 'death' would be a tough subject to push in a pop song, but it's so ambiguous to anyone who doesn't follow Gaga that it's totally fine. Whereas, Judas was the opposite. It was explicitly referencing religion and seemed far more controversial than the pretty conventional message in fact was.
