SMILE2NE1 3,566
I want something that doesn't have a stupid breakdown like all of these new songs, and I want it to be completely new sounding. Catch all of the other girls off guard. I would lahv it. ****ing yes. seriously uhhhhh. Starship's is the worst
Miracle 14,068
I wouldn't mind midtempo and more melancholic sounding songs. Even more sad subject themes I wouldn't mind. But I wouldn't want too many heartbreak songs. I mean, she writes what she wants and I can't change that but I don't want another 21. -another Bloody Mary-esque song would be cool, too No, heartbreak boring songs like ADELE no, please. BTW, I ve got a thought. I love BTW as I love TFM but its like any BTW song has that "Gaga magic". I mean, for example Bad Romance and Alejandro and Telephone has a hook that makes them special. Ale-ale-alejandro, ttttttelephone rah rah rah rah. Any BTW song makes that effect, no Judas or Hair or MTN. Perhaps just TEOG

Perhaps just TEOG If you mean the stuttering, I'm actually glad BTW doesn't have many of them (Or at least it has less than TF or TFM). It works for some songs, but I think she has to move on and try a different pop formula. If you mean something else, then I don't know... I'm pleased with the lyrical work of BTW in general  Edited May 18, 2012 by heavymlover
Lucky 0
The Fame, The Fame Monster.. and then another album about being famous. Idk, just personally I'm not crazy about it. We'll see where she takes it. I don't think it's fame in the same sense as TF and TFM. It's a more enriched and dynamic view. The psychology, what's real and what's fantasy, where does the a celebrities real life begin and end? what's private what is not? etc etc.

Lucky 0
Oh my god, I don't know if you're referring to it specifically but the brostep breakdowns got old FAST. And even non-brostep pop bridges suck (imo Gaga has a specialty in bridges). We'll see. Gaga is the bridge queen Seriously... Even on something like Just Dance, the two(?) bridges are insane. I think he's referring specifically to those songs that have the majority of a chorus swapped out for a dance break. We Found Love, Feel So Close, Starships, etc.
Miel 15,009
@Mircale I agree that at the time, the stuttering was very unique to her. I'm really glad her hooks have evolved from that, though. A good example is EOG; catchy and amazing without the use of an extensive stutter. I love The Queen with all my heart, but it's stutter ****ing sucks. @heavymlover I agree. Gaga is the bridge queen Seriously... Even on something like Just Dance, the two(?) bridges are insane. I think he's referring specifically to those songs that have the majority of a chorus swapped out for a dance break. We Found Love, Feel So Close, Starships, etc. Ah, I see. I really like WHYB, except that bridge breakdown kind of sticks it up my ass. It's still a nice song, but club-based songs are getting so unghf. And yeah, Just Dance's bridge is craaaaazy. 3 points in and ready for more
SMILE2NE1 3,566
Yes. She needs to devise a new non-stutter hook that is as good as the stutter-hook was in 2009.

SMILE2NE1 3,566
The reason for Gaga's widespread success is that she targets two main market segments. 1. General/casual pop listeners who want catchy music (Commerciality) 2. Artists/societal members who value cultural insight and innovativeness (fashion, social justice, musicality) To cater to the first group, her music must maintain a level of genericism and her message must be fun. In the second, she must be serious and have a legitimately though out artistic message and image. She the two segments sort of oppose each other. E.g. during BTW, her message became almost too serious for her casual pop listeners. And furthermore, many of her fans now hate her The Fame image as it is the generic Hollywood pop girl. Which direction do you see Gaga going for her next album?

I like some of those songs, but it gets annoying when everything song on the radio is trying to emulate that sound. I want Gaga to do something fresh and exciting and creative. What Gaga does is put soul into her music. It's catchy pop music, but it's... I dunno. It has something about. Might not always be perfect, but you can tell when someone has poured themselves into their music. Edited May 18, 2012 by Lucky
Mars 1,947
Instead of a breakdown it she should speed it up. I really want a song like Sheibe on steroids, nineties piano and weird techo-rave. Maybe a little psychedelia for a "Strawberry fields" Beatles type ballad. She needs to up her game and originality and let these other basic b---hes know whats going down.
