Jjang 2,262
The "mess" was for the streaming rules.Streaming is the future of music & arguably showcases popularity of a certain song/album on a much bigger scale than just digital sales. There is nothing messy about it.
Cody Draco 2,531
Lights #2 ~4.3 million Anything Could Happen #47 ~1.3 million I Need Your Love #16 ~1.5 million Burn #13 ~2.2 million Thank you, I didn't realize Lights was such a huge hit. There were a ton of great songs on radio back then so maybe that is why. These days it seems like the radio plays the same 5 songs over and over again. There is nothing messy about it. I agree that streaming will only become bigger when you look at todays situation, but to stream a song = to buy a song or an album is nonsense for me, it's two different things since I may like a song enough to stream it from time to time, but I don't like it enough to buy it which is the best way to see the power of a song/album(through it's actual sales).. There's no given pattern that we can follow, but its safe to assume that streaming showcases the song's actual popularity and how "big" it is among the masses. It makes sense to me as in they're estimating how well the album is performing popularity / impact wise, not just sales. You cannot dismiss streaming's importance in this department, its weight should be put into consideration, which BB did.

Well, I guess, it is important, but if I was asked, I would never include it in actual album sales... Maybe for singles..
