Why were people upset with the England leg of the BTWB?

Did I said that I meant you? Quote please.

And with difference to you I didn't offend you. :)

And I'm not talking just about Germany :smh: Like I said 3 are enough for UK imo. She should do more in countries she never been too instead :ohwell:

Well since you replied to me and posed a rhetorical question the implication is that you were talking about me lol... And who has been offended here?

I guess you just don't know that much about how tours are organised and planned. It does not make sense that in a country where TF(M) sold well over 2 million copies and BTW sold 1 million, that she would only play 3 shows there :duck: It's just dumb

1. Thanks for calling me dumb.

2. I thought Gaga doesn't care about sales but about her fans. What kind of paradox :lana:

1. I didn't say you are dumb :lmao: Will you ever read what I say properly? 'It's just dumb' VS 'you are dumb'. Which did I use? :toofunny: I said the fact they scheduled 3 UK shows for TBTWB was dumb, as is the idea that they would ever want to make that mistake again. See: ARTPOP's opening week sales in the UK

2. Gaga doesn't personally schedule her tour dates. Her management team and label does. Their job is to care about money and sales, they don't give a **** about us unless we are filling their banks  :lana:

I don't think that's a fair thing to say. A lot of people have to travel all the way to London to see her in concert, and staying in London is extremely expensive. Some people aren't made of money, and travel and hotel costs to London cost too much money. Some people have to travel in excess of 6 hours, and it's very difficult if you can't drive.

Notwithstanding the fact that Gaga has a much bigger fanbase here than anywhere else in Europe.

If she has to do 3 dates for the UK, she should spread them out further across the field.

Just a little statistics for the debate:

The Monster Ball tour saw Gaga doing 21 shows in the UK with estimated 223,000 tickets sold

and 3 shows in Germany with 26,200 tickets sold

The Born This Way Ball tour saw Gaga doing 3 dates in the UK with 116,793 tickets sold

and 4 shows in Germany with 47,907 tickets sold.

In the UK, a country with est. 63,230,000 people over 3,835,000 Lady Gaga albums have been sold

In Germany, a country with est. 81,890,000 people over 1,100,000 Lady Gaga albums have been sold.

The numbers speak for itself, the UK is her second biggest music market and the demand for a Gaga music/show seems to be bigger than anywhere else in Europe. Gaga should just schedule a really big date in London (Wembley) and visit some cities besides Manchester (Belfast, Liverpool, London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Cardiff, Birmingham, Nottingham and Sheffield). UK is exceptional because it's a market huge for her in both: music + touring. There's nothing bad or wrong about it

But traveling to another country isn't expensive or what? :fail:

It's not only in UK like that :p

But also in continental Europe

That is completely irrelevant. Myself and many other people don't have the money to go to London, and her management should know that there are other locations in the UK. She did Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, and other places for The Monster Ball, so there's no reason she shouldn't do those locations again.

I do think she should do more dates in other countries, but I'm sick of people saying that we shouldn't have more dates in the UK just because they don't have many dates. We don't say it to you, so don't say it to us.

But in the same sense of you saying people shouldn't be saying that, you should't be saying she should add more shows just because you dont have the money to travel while other people do.  You know Gaga was going to tour and sometime soon after putting out ARTPOP so saving money could have been done for a while now.

And she hasn't even released the UK dates yet so just because she only had a few dates during the BTWB she might have more now, during the BTWB she had a lot of dates in all different parts of the world, some of which are not visited often at all by almost any artist so it would make sense that she doesnt have tooo many in one place when there are so many scattered around.  This tour will most likely be a little smaller and focused more on bigger market areas, like the UK

Everybody is complaining about having to travel to see her when people are doing that to see her everywhere else to, in much bigger places then the UK/Europe

didn't go due to travel time to London and that she was playing a stadium which means you're half a mile away unless you're there at the crack of dawn for the gold circle- which is fair enough- on this occasion I just didn't want to do it.

I don't see stadiums this time round (not least due to it being autumn/winter) so probably the usual suspects which will be better all round- I only hope they realise that the UK doesn't just mean London and Manchester

travelling to Europe is more expensive although you get to see some good places as well-  the only part exception maybe Madonna where on Confessions the tickets were third the price they were in the UK so actually it didn't cost much more to go to Paris for a couple of shows than going to Wembley twice

I don't see why we're still arguing .. the European leg for the BTWB was awful 3 dates in the UK was shocking .. Germany had 4 shows ... although I think she should tour more in Germany .. no offence but the UK should've got more shows .. the fact that those three shows sold out in seconds illustrates the demand .. when the tickets were announced for the shows ... it was on the news that there had been thousands of google searches and it was predicted that something like a million fans might try to get one ticket out of a mere 116,000 tickets available. However at that time it was less because there was only one London date announced so more like only 66,000 tickets available.

Ok moving on ... I'm pretty sure this tour will be considerably better in terms of the European leg .. ARTPOP charted weird in some countries here and the BTWB didn't sell than many tickets in some places so I'm sure there will be less focus on Eastern Europe for the ARTPOP ball .. I think she'll skip countries like Russia (whole gay rights issues) Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria and Romania .. therefore this Leg is going to be very Western European heavy so more dates for Spain, Germany, France, Italy and the UK etc. Tbh it should be this way too ... this is where the ticket sales will gross the most and might even surpass the BTWB's gross  :awkney:

  • 2 weeks later...

I live right on the coast of the north east of Scotland, and we travelled for almost 12 hours on a bus to get London for the show, if she's gonna tour the uk she should do a show in Scotland. :nails:

Considering the demand I was surprised that there was only 3 UK Dates & I was lucky to go to 2! In regards to the 'ART RAVE' I will only be able to go to one as not allowed to go to more than one! :emo: But I for one will travel anywhere in the UK for an Artist. For example, I am travelling from one end of the country to the other next month to see Jake Bugg & I will do the same for Gaga! :)  But again, unfortunately the rule for me this year is one Date per Tour! :( :noparty:
