Exactly, we need some music that suits her personality and fashion finally this era. At least one experimental single. 3rd safe-ish single in the row would be disaster. Gypsy may be the exception tho.

I think we need Gypsy more to keep the GP happy for now. Once they are softened up again. after her performing this smash hit, (because let's face it if she opens up those pipes, people will be blown away, once again), it's possible to do something more risky like Venus.

 But that is the confusion you and or many Gaga fans have only because you follow everything Gaga does and or says. Like I already said, most of the GP wouldn't be thinking this way because they don't follow Gaga the way we do. And since you need the GP and not only fans to gain major success, I say Venus could still do fine.

DWUW is released as a promo single, yet somehow people never manage to realise what promo singles are...

Gaga scraps Venus because DWUW was better recieved.

 I agree, just a messy song, with horrendous lyrics. It's not a radio song, its a novelty song

 Except I am not sure that is a fair indicative of how this song would do if released in the future. I say this because only a limited amount of people heard the song, or in other words only the few people that are contantly surfing itunes for songs would have found out about it during a time span of 2 days. If the song is released as a single, a whole lot more people will get to listen to the song because of radio plays, more Gaga performances, and a music video. Now, I am not saying that Venus would be a guaranteed success, but I think it at least has a 50% chance of being a big hit.

The main problem is that she has promoted it. Ignoring Swinefest (and the like), she has performed Venus during many televised promo spots... People aren't going to think "wow brand new gaga", they're going to think "I've heard this before..."

 

It has already gone to #1 in some countries!
