Brown Eyes 0
What she said is apparently what Gaga has told her. That's honestly way way worse than if this Emma girl was speaking on her own accord. I totally get her not wanting to come here anymore (why is a pop superstar even lurking their fanforums in the first place?) but to publically announce it like that and basically guilt trip her own fans (for speaking their opinion) is very messed up. It is indeed very messed up. It's not only about their opinions, but apparently also about who they are as a person. If a person is negative than that's how they are and this whole elite thing going on in this fanbase is sickening me.
Brown Eyes 0
She did not publicly announce it. It was Emma's on decision to disclose that. And "She shouldn't even be here" is just admitting that online sites are too sick and depraved of human decency and there is no hope. I am here to fight the sickness, and I won't give up! :) Referring to 'negativity' as sickness sounds very juvenile. If her fans dislike her music/performances/etc, people should be able to discuss this with fellow fans without being afraid to hurt Gaga's feelings. And it's common sense that pop superstars should never ever read what people say about them, there's literally nothing to gain by paying so much attention to what your fans (or any person) are saying about you, and if Gaga insists on doing it, then don't complain about hate and negativity. As a 'student of fame', who has song out that says "write what you want, say what you want about me", and even has an album called "The Fame Monster", she should understand that I refer to this post that was made earlier in this thread, it says everything A mega pop star should NEVER come to these forums. People sound off, they project, critique - the creator must never be present. In my opinion, there is an app now, and Ms G should deliver high quality B-side content to her fans directly - that is the way a pop star communicates: with valuable creative content. I can understand her disillusionment, but what I think is that all of YOU (I am a casual fan, so I don't count myself) warts and all - this fanbase are who MADE her the star she is now. You are the REASON she exists in her current incarnation and the reason for her success.I have lurked on and off for a while and although I can see that even those of you who are mostly negative are still real fans. Because for some of you it is almost an obsession, you take her highs and lows to heart and sound off about them in your own ways. This forum is like a teenage girl's diary in many ways - it's often neurotic and certainly not something that should be read by the 'parent', so to speak. But that doesn't invalidate your love and need for her - and this forum's value, the value of the 'stans', the fans, who who buy the music, watch the videos over and over and wait with bated breath for the star's next move. And just like the teenager's diary, it should not be read by the parent or anyone else and judged on its maturity, because that's not what it's all about. I hope Lady G realizes that if she set herself up to be an archetype and a goddess of a sort - a Mother - there has to be a sense of humor about these things, an ability to laugh at her 'kids', appreciate them for who they are, gently admonish them when necessary, but also not let their behavior affect her adult paradigm. Finally, when you're a pop star, you set yourself up to be a--lyzed, critiqued, adored, hated and compared. That is just the name of the game. My hope is that in her newfound sobriety she will find the strength and the center she needs to be above all those things and rule as I am positive she can. Bat 6,162
Gaga not visiting GGD only supports the theory that she would rather surround herself with yes-men and yasss-twinks rather than face criticism. I get that some members go too far with their meltdowns, but there are a lot that have constructive criticism too. If her largest fansite is displeased with the era, that should be setting off alarms that what she's doing isn't working. Not all of this "negativity" is because her sales or chart positions are underwhelming. Maybe some fans aren't happy with the quality of her work? And the hypocrisy of saying "stan for Katy" and "stop the drama" in the same status Preach gurl!
ELECTRAHEARTPOP 93
Would y'all just leave Emma alone about the stan for Katy thing? Many of you are guilty of saying worse and yet you get offended when someone gets upset. It wasn't the nicest thing to say, but I understand her frustration. This so much. Emma is a true inspiration to us all and while I don't agree with everything that was said on RadioARTPOP you should all stop laying into Emma. She never meant that comment in a disrespectful or hateful way. She is just angry, as I am, as Jess was, as a lot of this forum is, about the hate that is being spread at the moment. Negativity is okay as long as it's presented in a constructive and insightful form. Not in a hateful and vile way as many of you are. Merry Christmas and enjoy the holidays. See you all in 2014 for a positive year.

You're free to dislike things. I'm free to dislike things. It's about how we communicate those opinions. I don't understand why people can't see that. It's also different when the negativity is from her own fanbase, & after some point, I'm sure it's easier said than done. She's clearly trying not to pay attention to it anymore. Besides, the fact that hate comes with the territory shouldn't be an excuse for being disrespectful.

Sparkly 2
Right, her "true fans have to abide to my rules" philosophy is a mess. Like the fact that there even is a critera, what happened to just liking the artist being enough to be a true fan? Or the 'we're all equal'? This reminds me strongly of 'nerd culture' where a lot of fans get labelled as not-fans because they haven't reached a certain amount of knowledge or don't spend as much money on stuff. And I have always hated it. With passion. If you like something you have the right to label yourself a fan. You don't have to follow a strict set of rules on how to behave and who to be in order to be good enough. This isn't a religion, it's simply music. There are people who honestly are only fans of fame and excitement and drama, like it's a reality TV show. When Gaga was #1, they joined the fanbase and attack other artists and made us look bad. Now that Gaga is not #1 they stan for Katy or Beyonce and attack Gaga. Those are not true fans, and those are the kinds of fans I'm glad are leaving the fanbase. But honestly, the way some fans have behaved IS worthy of condemnation. And it has nothing to do with music or Gaga or fans. It has everything to do with just being a decent human being. Anyone who acts this way in ANY circumstance in life needs to be called out for their B.S.

Using the term "true fan" is stupid in first place, I've never seen anyone using it in other fanbases. It's just that with Gaga people want to feel more important than others. Too many people here with moral superiority complex.
