She was nominated for Favourite Female Pop Artist, but Demi Lovato won. Kinda proves that these awards make no sense. Surely if she was the favourite pop artist she would also win the female category? It's the same at the VMA's when artists win 'Video of the Year' and 'Best Pop Video' but not in the gender categories. But that's what happens when it's a public voted award. I remember there was an article that showed really clearly that the majority of the awards are basically distributed to whoever shows up to the show - to make them look better on TV. And I don't see how Demi would win Best Female Artist over Britney but then lose this one to her. That doesn't make logical sense lol. Plus JT sold like 3.2 million albums in the US in 2013 and Britney sold like 200k or something. Idk I just don't buy it to be honest. Plus they had a seat for her in the front row so they musta known she was gonna win... Larry Rudolph probably just thought it would be good promo for the Las Vegas residency. Don't get me wrong I like Britney and everything but let's be honest. Today, in 2014, she is clearly not the 'favourite pop artist' by any stretch of the imagination... Yes but if a fan-base went in and bombarded an award show with votes to ensure their fav would win they would do it across all categories. There is no way they would do it enough for this one category, against 4 artists that have been more popular than her within the past year, but not enough for the others. It's common practise for award shows like these. Most award shows, actually... They reward artists for turning up and giving them publicity. It's not like it's just this one instance.
