last year everybody expected us to have the last laugh in the katy vs gaga fight due to the tour. so many were saying 'yeah but she's still a touring act who people want to see no matter what'. most people expected her to gross 150 million AT LEAST. after june these expectations lowered to 100-110 million, then to 90-100 million and now 80-90 million. everybody last year wouldve bet their money on gaga grossing over 100 million. its so disappointing, and we shouldnt expect touring demand when theres no demand for the artist in general anymore till gaga actually becomes a legend (and she has quite a few years to go).

 

A few =/= most

 

There is no way I would have bet a dime on Gaga grossing a certain amount, especially some "magical" number a bunch of stans made up to be some goalpost for success. :roll: A few people here pulled this number out of the sky and pushed it daily for so long, they have others believing that 90 million is some kind of failure.   If 90 million is disappointing, then Bruno and Pink had disappointing tours last year. Taylor Swift and Rihanna have only had one "successful" tour in all their years. Miley outright failed...she might as well stop music all together. Cher shouldn't have ever done a tour. In fact, 99% of all the tours over the past few years should have never even happened, because they were all "disappointing".

 

There isn't "demand" for anyone, outside of a few legacy acts, MJ's Immortal tour and about 3-5 current artists a year. Unless you are a legacy act or in those 3-5 current artists for any given year, you should just stay home....don't even attempt to go perform for your fans around the world...because there isn't enough demand and you are just a disappointing failure.

I'd like it to gross over 100M because it's a good benchmark, but let's face it: There are only 79 shows in total. She'd need to gross over 1M per show in order to reach this.

Dropping off the face of the earth for 6 months prior to the tour

 

It was all against the Artrave from the start. It was never going to achieve that much. Ever.

 

The only saving grace that the Artrave could've had would be a re-release of ARTPOP - but the album was so panned that it would've been career suicide.

 

The realistic realization for this tour is that it had no business doing as well as it did with the odds stacked against it as they were.

I'm looking forward to her next tour, which I hope will be a Gaga tour and not a tour like this one which lacks the Dramatic dark undertones that all her other tours had (The weird aura of blood, s-x & indie rock chic of TFB, The S&M, Drug abused, glamourous danger quality of TMB, The s-x-dungeon-meets-rapunzel-meets-Stadium-rock-goddess quality of TBTWB).

 

Hopefully after the rebuilder that was C2C, we'll have a wiser Gaga. A More organized team and a tour that'll make all fans proud, regardless of their intention.
