I don't think that's true tbh. maybe in Greece, but not everywhere.

I am talking about Greece.

If you are refering to the Stadium - Arena prices, it's not something that I imagined, we know that for a long time. If you were here during the discussions about stadium tours with the BTWB-MDNAT you may remember all these facts about how stadium Tours are cheaper because the singer and it's actually easy to explain it as well.

100.50 € 78.50 € 62.00 € 40.00 €

and platinium tickets was in the ~200

Arena shows generally are a bit more expensive than stadium shows.

Example:

artRAVE in Tokyo: avg 150$/ticket

BTWBall in Tokyo: avg 180$/ticket

Sure, but it's not a HUGE amount or anything.

Yes, and as I said - maybe in Greece, but not necessarily everywhere else.

No I was not here for that, so I couldn't remember any "facts" since I wasn't part of the discussion.. I don't even know what MDNAT is.

MDNA Tour. Madonna's previous tour.

Let me explain it simply: WIth one stadium date the singer can gather as many people he/she would gather with 2-3 arena dates with much less expenses, much less time and by keeping much more energy as well so the tickets can be much cheaper. With arena dates you have have a much smaller croud which means that if you want to have as much impact as with a stadium date you need more dates, much more money spend, much more time spend and much more energy spend. This is why arena dates are more expensive.

meh Madonna is irrelevant to me so no wonder I didn't know what it was. Since Immaculate Collection I don't really like her stuff. Plus she never gets her ass to Australia on her tours.

And next to that, stadium shows are generally cheaper for their capacity than arena shows, and people are willing to pay more for arena shows because of better acoustic, better view and a more intimate experience.

Gee thanks for thinking that I am an imbecile. Obviously you can get more people into a stadium than an arena. I still do not believe that the ticket are MUCH cheaper in a stadium. They may be slightly cheaper, but not by lots. Besides, you still have to actually sell all those tickets for the stadium, whereas for arena shows you may do multiples but then you also have more chance that people will go to multiple shows (= more ticket sales) and if you just do one show then fans who would normally go to more than one show obviously can't.

I just wanted to explain it. SInce when kindness became arrogance?

Of course arenas are safer but in Greece people can't pay that much money and yes 20-30 euros is a huge difference for non-fans and especially in a county with such heavy crisis like Greece that people can't pay their rent or don't know if they will have a job the next month. The tickets are already very expensive for people here after 2010. Here it would be a stadium date or no date at all. Also Gaga doesn't have time to spend 2-3 aren dates in each place she goes. After all if Live Nation thinks that Gaga can sell out the stadium or most of it then why not? Just sit and watch how many tickets will be have been sold after the concert is over if you have so many doubts and you are so sure that you know better the situation that me that I live in Greece.

Yes, this as well.

Also you skould know that the smaller the venue, the bigger the ticket prices are. Arena shows are much more expensve than stadium shows. This is why rarely big acts will visit arena's in Greece.

Not necessarily.

Lady Gaga is performing at the Zenith de Paris which has a capacity of 6k and the tickets are a bit cheaper than her concert at Bercy Arena in the same city which has a capacity of +15k.

And considering that Greece is in a long period of crisis, the tickets wouldn't be much more expensive at all. Promoters are not stupid, they can't put expensive prices for concerts when they know that a lot of people can't afford to buy them.

And also, the crisis started in 2008. Madonna's concert was in september 2008 so it was during the crisis right ? The same for U2, they came here in 2010.

Yes, this as well.

Having said that, why were the Roseland prices so ridiculously low? :rip: they could've been 150$ avg instead of 66$

The differences in the numbers you are saying are small anyway compared to an arena and a big stadium.

Also of course they are not studpid and this is why the show didn't happen in an arena, because as you said they wouldn't make people pay ticket prices that they can't afford. You answered by yourself.

It was a different kind of show obviously. Much cheaper show, old and not very ergonomic obviously and probably because the fact they did a lot of dates as well had something to do with it + other things we don't know. We can't compare Roseland with a real Tour though anyway.
