LaXian 25
I think P!NK stole the Grammy's when it came to the performances ... The "Try" part slayed me so much ... She's a true performer imo ...
MonsterMum 2,532
The fact that Katy didn't win a Grammy AGAIN. :toofloppy: I’m listening to radio reviews on one of our 3 big Dutch radio channels and literally nobody mentions Katy. These reviews are going now for 3 hours with bits and pieces and playing the songs performed on the Grammys. This morning we had a review on the morning news, nobody mentions Katy, yet they mention Yokos crazy cat lady dance. It's catchy but I don't think it's making any impact. Mills 446
None in that post which I've replied indicate that it refers to worldwide scope, hence the assumption made. And even so, given that the US market has a commanding 58% market share with regards to digital sales worldwide, then the more KP's sales and/or achievements shouldn't be simply discredited. Since 2010, half a hundred million digital tracks were sold by KP in the US alone, I believe that's far more than anything her pop contemporaries have done in the same time period. And with her Billboard chart performances factored in, it isn't a far-fetched statement that KP, at least for now, is the biggest pop act today in terms of digital sales. Again, as this is only further substantiated with DH taking the top spot on iTunes and possibly the HOT 100 chart very soon.

It had little or no impact at all. And the fact she won 0/3 awards for which she was nominated. “The scars on my mind are on Replay”

Griffin 6
I don't think anything Katy does is particularly memorable. People often applaud acts for "experimenting" with different sounds, but often this just means that they're trying to stick with what's current. I mean in 2008 she was doing guitar rock-pop, following by 2010 dance pop, and this era she's given us an empowerment song with a typical AC-pop instrumental, a power ballad and now she's jumping on urban. There's a difference between musical diversity and plain inconsistency.
StarryNight 10,106
Katy 0 Gagz 5 we still have this
artpopmess 369
Katy will be up for AOTY and maybe more next year, and eventually the sense that she'd due will get her a win. Weirdly they didn't nom Lorde for best new act, thus manipulating anyone who thought she should get something to vote for Royals as best song. Prism won't win album of the year lol don't follow my instagram (trying out reverse psychology)
Mills 446
Katy 0 Gagz 5 we still have this And we still hold the distinction of Gaga being the only contemporary artist to be called as the new Queen of Pop by RollingStone, FORBES, TIME, and even Billboard at one point in time. MonsterMum 2,532
I hope next year Gaga gets a nomination for the jazz album with Tony Bennett, to finally give her a rest with trying to put her into this “only popstar†mold. She can slip into any genre and that’s exactly what makes her stand out, wish people/media would stop bashing her only because she wants to relief herself out of that straight-jacket.
