I think its also important to remember that she isn't dumb. Im sure she took in the controversy/respect factor into consideration. She wouldn't blindly perform something that would piss off a whole country (to those from other countries, this would actually piss off most of America as it is a very sensitive subject). If she wants to garner attention, it wont be in a cheap way.

I don't think this song fits JFK and MM at all, they where in love, so why does "you can't have my heart" fit those two?

This could end so badly... i'm really scared for her, i hope everything goes well

They're just using the

"You're the Marilyn; I'm the president"

lyric as a basis for the performance

1. wait, when was JFK canonized? Because he's being treated like a saint when we all know he's not.

2. She "s-xualized" JFK in Government Hooker and not an eyelash was batted. Now it's an issue?

3. Not everybody loves him; there are people that hated him as a prez then and still do today.

4. Why are people afraid of it being so s-xual? JFK and Marilyn's relationship was, so why sugarcoat it in any way?

1 no one said he was. It does not matter that he wasnt perfect or even necessarily good it is a common respect.

2. I was not happen about it then but it seemed to make a little more sense and it was a passing line. This entire performance seems to revolve around this scene. She is making a much larger statement with this performance since it is right after the anniversary than she was in GH

3. Again it does not matter it is about respecting the dead.

4. I dont really care about the s-xual it is the subject of JFK that I care about. To me if it was just her and R Kelly they could have s-x up there and I wouldnt care but they are portraying people.

Oh god... "You're the Marilyn, i'm the President..."

This makes me so nervous. People are going to lose respect for it being so s-xual.

Yep. That's actually one of the things I love most about Gaga; that she can make such an amazing impression without having to be s-xual/provocative. Unless this has a VERY strong artistic message and her vocals are ON POINT, I'm afraid she will cause tons of controversy for all the wrong reasons.

For once in your lives, can't some of you just enjoy a performance without worrying about what the general public will think?  :fail:

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

I also think that for most American people the JFK concept will go over their heads, most are too dense to understand the reference anyway and yes I am American. Most people will see R Kelly and be like "Oh a black man - she must be referencing Obama"

I'm sorry but bringing JFK into this is horrible. This week was the 50th anniversary and he was loved. And this hardly fits the song. This is controversial going way too far.

Gaga needs this performance and she is going to turn off so many people if that's what the theme will be. It;s immature actually.

And she said the song wasn't meant to be s-xual when she first wrote it, why do all of the performances have to be s-xual? What was the first direction of the song? Go with that.

I am not just worried about the GP. I think it is disrespectful and it will take a serious positive message for this performance to be redeemed.

1 + 3. Respect is key, I agrey. But some of the posts here imply that JFK is untouchable, almost saint-like.

2. But how do we know what statement she's making when she hasn't even done it yet? lol this I don't get about Monsters sometimes.
