Not to mention - she's not the only artist who has sampled other artists, people do it all the time and not to mention when she's talked about Venus, she's always held Zombie Zombie & Sun Ra in very high regard, so that wouldn't've backfired on her in that respect. Do What U Want was fantastic, it was a good choice. Most people don't even know about the song that she sampled, and besides Gaga asked for permission to sample it in Venus. I honestly cringed the first time I read the lyrics to it. Still an amazing song nonetheless, just not single material IMO. Had her team laid out an entire plan ahead of time DWUW would've done amazingly, Interscope chose it last second though on a whim (I have a feeling they were just looking for a way to back out of Venus) and forced Gaga to change the whole promo plan she had laid out starting with the UK X-Factor performance and then leading to the now infamous video scenario. Had they planned for DWUW from the start after Applause the album and single cycle would likely be in a much better place, it's all just speculation at this point though. The lyrics are meant to be "cheesy" but in a fun way duh. U really think "walk walk fashion baby, work it move....." is any better? U just get into it and I'm sure if the video was just as amazing as the song, it would have at least moderate success. my friends and I always dance out to this song when we're drunk. its just so fun and that chorus has to be at least top 5 in Gaga choruses Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
