Valextra 58 Posted November 19, 2013 Share Posted November 19, 2013 I'm not going to try and justify the sales numbers; they're definitely less impressive than I expected for somebody as big as Gaga, but considering she didn't little to no promo outside of the artRave and that one performance on GMA, I guess she's doing okay for herself. I agree, and by the way this album is not for everyone like 'The Fame', I think it's more complicated for common people not so commercial in my opinion. I think about it like if Gaga (as well as any other artist I like) takes the time to make music for her fans to buy and enjoy, then the least I can do is support their effort and purchase a copy. MTE. I'm one of those that waited and purchased the download from iTunes. Then I purchased 4 CD copies to support Gaga. Many of the posts on GGD show that many fans are only here for her music and don't care about Gaga outside of her music. Fortunately, there are also many here that love her as a person and that is why I stay. It will be a bit boost if ARTPOP debuts at #1 because that will be a great talking point for talk shows ... a talking point the hosts can use when they announce Gaga. And the shows can be promoted in advance advertising using that fact, so she should be invited to be a guest on many shows. The #1 status could go a long way towards getting Gaga back in front of a wider audience than just her fan base. I live outside the space time continuum.
