alposnacks 1
That doesn't add up. It's a joke making fun of how Gaga hyped up ARTPOP to be inspired by high art but contains tracks like the aforementioned. Just like this type of low-brow vandalism can also be technically be categorized as art but will not be acknowledged as such. Explaining it takes something out of it. Saying that Gaga can't put Rap and R&B on her art-inspired album is like saying to Warhol that he can't paint a picture of a soup can.

Gaga4Lady_Gaga 7
This whole thing just makes me so sad. I love all kinds of art but I'm sorry, carving your name into someone else's work is not 'art'; it's vandalism plain and simple. Jeff Koons' statues looked so beautiful at the ARTRave and those there were so lucky to be able to experience them. It's just a shame someone took that experience as a chance to vandalise the art!! Really hoping something is done about it!!
Lux Zappa 0
This is just so unbelievably disrespectful. Her it's-my- art! is such a cheap excuse. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad. Honestly, I felt really bad when Gaga threw the drink off one of the statues during ARTPOP. It shouldn't even have crossed their minds to do that. You just..don't do that.. and you especially don't ****ing do it when you know the person who commissioned it is going to walk literally right next to it. Would you do something like that at a gallery? No. I kinda got the vibe that the people who weren't necessarily Gaga fans that attended weren't taking any of the art/technology seriously. Like you know the pretentious types who just refuse to believe Gaga could ever create (or be involved in creating) something genuine because she's a pop star worth millions? Hopefully this incident won't deter her from doing anything like this again. If we're lucky and she does plan something out like this for the next album then her team better be less sloppy with the invites because I truly believe it wouldn't have happened had the majority of people invited been monsters. I agree with this.... When Gaga did that you think people would've registered it. Or least registered it BEFORE they even walked in. its like me going to the Minneapolis institute of art, and putting a cigarette out on a Rembrandt...and then saying "Its the burning....Its art" I'd rather go **** myself with a pineapple than harm anyone else's thoughts, beauty, love art and god damn hard work.. Selfish selfish. My deepest apologies to Jeff Koons who worked so hard. :( This girl was rude, and mean. Thats not fair to anyone, what she has done. Especially when all of us who never even had a chance to go to art RAVE would've killed just to even place our EYES upon Koon's work. Selfish... and Rude... and Mean. this gurl is going to pay........bye That being said this is the cutest gif Ive ever seen. I love that dog... Milord 1
When did I say that Gaga can't put rap and R&B on her art-inspired album? Your thought process makes no sense. Oh please, you know what he means. Art is subjective. If Jewels N' Drugs and Fashion! are the expression of her art, then it is. Vandalism, on the other hand, isn't art. Roma 0
Vandalism, on the other hand, isn't art. As someone who's done quite a few essays on street art, vandalism is subjective. I'm definitely not defending this guy/girl though. Doing anything (especially damaging) to someone else's art does not make it your own. So I would just correct that above statement to "Vandalizing art isn't art."

I shouldn't have generalized, there is some awesome street art out there, which, technically, could be considered vandalism. I guess I should say that vandalizing someone's sculpture isn't art. Street art and vandalism has a very fine line, no? It's morally a grey area for me. I doubt very many people other than this vandal consider this art. If you want to make a statement out of it, make your own look-alike sculpture and do whatever the hell you want to it. Don't ruin somebody else's art for your gain. Miel 15,009
I guess sometimes vandalism can be seen as 'art', or something. Like, I don't know crap about art, but it seems Duchampesque to think in that manner. However, this is just pretty terrible. Maybe I'm being too insensitive to whomever did it, but I feel like they're high-nosing their justifications in that their actions is art. 3 points in and ready for more

Graffiti is considered both an art and a vandalism... it depends on how you look at it. However, THIS is not the same thing. This is definitely vandalism. PS: They deleted their twitter.
